Lennon vs. McCoist

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

You need to check your history. There is a strong link between Arsenal and Glasgow Rangers going back as far as the 30's.The first floodlit match at Highbury was Arsenal v Rangers, but obviously you think a certain "type" of people don't belong here! Now where have we all heard that before-little chap, boots, moustache!
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Just before you wrap up your idea of where the truth lies can I just point out that years ago there was a fanzine publication (I think it was called blue is the colour :? ) that was specifically for fans of the above mentioned teams. That isnt just a rumour mate cos I actually seen it myself in a football book shop on one of my visits over to london in the late 80's or early 90's. That was a class bookstore though and covered books and fanzines from clubs all over the world :? - I cant even remember where the shop was but I think that I heard somewhere along the line that it closed down :(

Aye, but you can do that all day- to those English Gooners with a Celtic preference

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFx5PORkc6w

As mentioned earlier, both pretty much scum
I dont see anything wrong with what they done

Why is the BA on our field, I dont support any of their activities, I feel sorry for many of the actual soldiers who are just used as pawns and assassins

No doubt Ill be hounded for that but water of a ducks back
I am fucking fed up with this sectarian bullshit!!!
If Celtic fans don't like Britain and the British fair enough, but instead of spitting at,and verbally abusing ordinary working class people who probably just went into the forces because it was a job. Then flying Irish flags and singing pro IRA songs while claiming to be a Scottish football club, support a proper Irish club like Shamrock Rovers,or persuade Celtic to play in Ireland. And no.I am not a Rangers fan,but at least they are what they are-a Scottish/British football club.
Because its a job?

Killing innocent people is a job now, maybe it is for you but for most of us it isnt. I said I feel for these soldiers, they're doing it for their country etc.

Fact is though, their country should mind its own fucking business. If someone invades Britain then fine, but they are the ones invading every country in the land.

IRA, British Army , I dont see any difference there. Both fight for their countries, both kill innocent civilians. One are "terrorists" , the other an "army".

End of the day dont get on your high horse about videos above if you want to sing songs about the BA and no surrender, and force teams to wear poppys.

No good telling Celtic to fuck off out of Britain. Why dont the British Army fuck off out of Ireland?

Its just football but in this situation it aint and too many people are misinformed.

Just saying things for effect again, IG? Don't care who it offends? Fuck everyone else, eh?

Those guys are prepared sacrifice themselves, working class lads, so show some fucking respect or just stay out of it.
I paid them respect, they are just pawns.

Sacrifice themselves for who exactly? Theres no need for a British Army in conflict at this time.

So the question must be asked what are these men doing except killing innocent people.

You really are a wanker sometimes IG, and this one of those times. I wonder if you're just being contrary to make people bite...

Pawns? Enough people would like to be able to pay respect to soldiers who without question, and with honour, are prepared to defend their country. And are prepared to do so even for people who despise them. We are in a conflict in Afghanistan, but this is probably much more about a historical thanks.

For me, I'm not of those who can be uncritical of the army, but I appreciate the difficult and grey area in which they work.

People can moralise all they want, and accuse them all of being murderers, but are the same ones happy to take advantage of the freedom that these people, in history, have given their lives to defend.

I retract the above regarding calling you a wanker IG, that is too strong, and I apologise.

I agree. It is very difficult to put forward an opinion without triggering entrenched views. At the end of the day,we are all human beings, most of us are football fans, and all of us on this forum are Arsenal fans!Lets celebrate that!

I agree, lads. I'm locking it as it's descended into abuse and xenophobic rubbish. :(

We are all Gooners, let's not let this subject cause anymore hatred on here. Everyone has their own opinion on it and it serves no purpose for people to be fighting about this on an Arsenal forum.

Peace out, brothers and sisters. 8)
