I knew he was smiling, what the fuck was that about?

At the end of the day he's usually a world class player, rubbish tonight.

One thing he's not and will never be is a good captain! No leadership what so ever, and dont give me that crap about setting an example. like tonight!

His behaviour on and off the pitch was unacceptable today.
He is paid to lead out our team, not cuddle his mates.
I hope he learns from it.

He had an awful game, but clearly want fit. BUT that doesn’t detract from one thing he IS overrated. He has been our best player since Henry left, up until this year that is. Nasri and even young Jack Wilshere have been more consistent in their performances this season in my opinion. I’d actually go as far as saying he’s probably no longer our best player and Nasri probably hold that mantle. Ted Baker also mentioned teams who had player who really stands up to be counted and he’s spot on. When it boils down to the really big games Fabregas has never single headedly taken a game and turned it around, the only time I can ever remember him doing it was his sub performance against villa away last season. He also doesn’t have the work rate and passion that Wilshere is showing, and Nasri is a far more threatening player to opposition defences.

Now don’t get me wrong he is a class player. But not a leader and not as good as he’s made out to be. I’d love him to stay but it’s inevitable he’ll be going. Seeing him in the tunnel before the game kinda summed him up really. So I’d say sadly lets cash in for the biggest amount while we can this summer. Nothing worse than seeing him go for we’ll under market value the way Henry did. Id say £40-50mill.

Only person who should learn is Wenger, if he wants to go, sell him.

Nasri is red-hot this season, but it's hard to say he's the better player because Cesc has been consistently influential for years. Cesc's midfield presence is immediately missed when he's not on, although Nasri might make up for it if Wenger would play him there.

Cesc is also not the Wilshere-mold, can't expect him to play like that as that's simply not his role. He's a slow, coordinating playmaker, and he plays that role very well.

Anyway, today he was unfit but I think it's unfair to undervalue his importance at the club. Of course he's going to be joking around with his friends before the match; you don't go and hate your mates just because they play on the other team. Selling him could prove costly because I don't see him actually being replaced by a similarly skilled player if Wenger is still here.

Oh FFS have a day off you lot! :banghead:

He was smiling, he cuddled his mates blah blah. Had a bad game, rushed back, that is all. Keyboard warriors finding a pic of an open mouth, yea he was laughing and cheering???? Mugs.

Saw when he came off looked like he was gonna cry. Felt for the lad. Back heel moment of madness, but when he's fit best player we've got, easily!! And as for captaincy, look at the Leeds game, Chavs, Huddersfield on and on!! Still a LOT of football left this season!!!!

If you saw Xavi in the tunnel he looked serious and not in the mood for a laugh, that's how a captain behaves. None of that hugging every player shite.

I long for the days when real men lead us out. Where's the new Tony Adams, Frank McLintock? :(

"I take full blame for the result tonight," Fabregas said on his Twitter account. "One of the worst moments of my life. I apologise."

You dont apologise when you stab someone on the back, and in this case is worst, he stabed milions of Arsenal fans around the globe, his team mates and everyone ells in the team. We made him whohe is today
I agree he was good and gave a lot to Arsenal, but for my mentality is unaccepptable, he can be the god of football but he dont merit an apologise nor defence from some of you guys in this forum, he dont eaven deserve to wear Arsenal shirt anymore for me as a Gooner he is an insult.

I was shocked by the reaction of my 7 and 9 years old boys, they cried in tears after the game, how many other kids have felt the same.

He was smiling?

Is this the new version of 'his body language is all wrong, he wants to go to Barca' threads from early in the season?

This forum is like poison towards our own club sometimes, and some members should be ashamed of their reactions.

We are all disappointed with last night's result, but the reaction to losing to Barcelona is way, way over the top.

Cook its all about the Sheep

If he scores a winner against Manure or battles us through a hard match against WBA they will love him again.

I was defintley alarmed by his behaviour and friendliness with the barca players but he has taken responsibility and that means a lot. well done to him, it almost makes up for that half hearted performance.
