Carl Jenkinson signs....

Nah not really son. That's why I asked.
Sack Wenger, is that clear enough you patronising little shit.
:? Calm down, son. Is that realistically going to happen though? So surely strengthening the squad is the best viable option at the moment?
Do you really think that with cesc and nas likely to leave, we will begin next season with a stronger squad than we did last?
FFS wake up and smell the shite all around us.
I don't see Samir leaving and obviously Cesc's depature will be a big loss but if we bring in key additions, I can see us being stronger next year. I think our end of season capitulation has really clouded some peoples views.

There is one obvious plus for me......the end of Eboue as our second choice right back confirmed ?

If nothing else we can get that clown off the books...
Wont celebrate till i see the clown rolling around and diving for another team.I dont trust Wenger

Agree with that but surely even the GIC doesn't want 3 right backs ?? Or is this our new CB that we've been craving (as it does report that he can also play at CB !)

I know there's a lot of anger out there but I think it's being largely misdirected. What are people so angry about? AW's signed a 6'1'', English, Arsenal-supporting defender. The BASTARD!

We shouldn't be upset that CJ has signed. We should be demanding some top-quality signings as well, not instead of.

Lansbury will be like a new signing...

No, seriously. I agree with SpanishJoe. We all wanted Wenger to sign a defender. Now we have one, and still people are complaining. If Jenkinson turns out to be one of a few young signings this summer, and Wenger doesn't sign established players, THEN we can complain. But not now.

On paper this guy looks the business, English, Arsenal fan, tall defender so maybe physical too. but the fact he has only 9 appearences in League 1 and barely any experience of first team football and none of that at the top level. I'm filled with sheer apathy at this signing, but with all due respect to Carl I wish him well and hope he has a few surprises for us if we plays next season.

The fact is, we need someone proven, who is established and can make an instant impact on the side and towards the fans, it proves that Wenger has at least realized we need to shore up the defence, he is just going about the wrong way as usual, when we need some instant and short term gain to boost the side. The fact that the reliance on all the youth has only given us a few positives makes me more skeptical. it's all well and good having a plan for the future, but what happens in the meantime, especially when that meantime is 6 years and counting...

So what he's onyl played 9 times? If he had played 99 times would it make any difference to some of you on here?

He's highly regarded by many, with a lot of clubs looking in on him. He's obviously impressed and we've also had him signed for about 6 months now.

Again, if this is the onyl signing then yes, complain away. But all it is, is confirming something that was done a while ago.
