It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

where is it, olgit? i'm coming back to the UK next march, and this time i'll spend a month traveling on your beautiful isles :barscarf: so i'll make sure to stop there for a few pints as well :barscarf: :barscarf:
Sad news mate. The brewery in Abingdon, Oxfordshire closed eleven years ago. :(

Speckled Hen is now brewed at Bury St Edmonds in Suffolk.

They probably still do brewery tours. But it's a long way from London.

Here's a link for you....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morland_Brewery

Update. Here's a link to the new brewery's tours.....

http://www.greeneking.co.uk/gk_guided_tours.htm

And another update. This is for Harveys brewery in Lewes....

cheers, olgit!!! :barscarf:

no problem with it being far from london. i intend to go from ben nevis to cornwall this time around, so no problems in stoping along the way to drink my favourite ale and meet the brewery.

edit: (just looked for suffolk on the map, and it really is a bit too far east. is there something else worth visiting in the area?)
Why not do a tour of Fuller's Brewery?

Chiswick Bitter and Discovery are good beers.

http://www.fullers.co.uk/rte.asp?id=9
i am a HUGE fan of fullers, quartz. their IPA is one of my favourite ales. i intend to stay one night on one of those "fullers inn" if i'm not mistaken there are quite a few in england, anyone ever been to one of those?
Been to plenty!

But never stayed at one because I have a flat in London.

If you are going to meet Olgit, try Harveys Sussex Ale.

If you are going to visit Bury St Edmunds then you must visit the pub called the old cannon. http://www.oldcannonbrewery.co.uk/ not positive that it is Gooner owned but the logo looks more than a little familiar !

bG when you are in Putney we will
Hit the Bricklayers Arms, has won CAMRA pub of the year a few times most recently Ldn pub of the year '10.

Got loads deals and leaflets on breweries all around England, real ale pub crawls and all.

Go to Mortlake/Chiswick as well to the Fuller's Breweries and have a tasting tour.

You can also get Old Speckled Hen at the Bailey, one of the best pubs round the Grove.

it was the jagermeister's fault    i had around 10-12 pints of ale (which is a lot for me, i usually have 6-7 on a normal evening) and some 4 or 5 shots of jagermeister. it was around christmas, there was ice on the sidewalk and i tried to run... people tell me it was a beautiful fall

the good thing is that i can't remember a thing, due to my alcoholic state :barscarf: :barscarf:

That's only happening if you put garlic sauce on it instead of heaps of fucking chilli sauce.
