Wilshere I'll give you obviously, we nicked Ramsey from Cardiff when he was 18, didn't come thru our academy and Gibbs has a lot to prove yet at any level.

Wilshere you can have and I'll give you Ashley Cole, name me one other player in the 15 yrs of Wenger's fabled youth policy that has made it?
Nah tha's fine. I'll take those. Cheers
Tough to name anymore, isnt it? :?

So we're turning out class players at the rate of one every 7.5 years.

Envy of the world.

Now we haven't signed him we are devastated  That's what makes this place a fucking lunatic asylum   :barscarf:
Dont think anyone is devastated. Its a sign of the times that this kid has turned us down. Arsenal apparently the 'best club in the world for developing youth' which we all knew was bollocks but it seems others are starting to see it now!!!

He chose us over United so that surely says something?

Also here are some words from our newest signing:

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 15651.html
However, the Ivory Coast forward maintains the opportunity to work with manager Wenger was too good an opportunity to pass up once Arsenal's interest was confirmed.

"When you are young, you always want to improve, to work with great managers - and Arsene Wenger is one of the best in the world," Gervinho told ArsenalPlayer.

"I think that with him, I will become a much better player, and he was very important in my choice to sign here.

"I came here because I believe that he can improve my game and help me reach another level, but the most important thing for me is that I bring a lot to the team for whom I am playing."

New player in praising new manager shock

As for Ramsey joining us over Utd you have to go back to Charlie Nicholas in 1983 for the last time we pulled off a transfer coup like that.

So we're all agreed then, good

Wengers fabled youth policy is a myth and that is a one player in 7.5 years fact.

Can put that one to rest then.

Sol was on a free, besides the only coup there was getting him for them lot.

Maybe he had an offer from Utd but back then Wenger wasn't in the full flush of dementia and we were a respected club.

A costa rican gangster teenager has just turned Arsene FC. Wenger's little empire is crumbling all around him.

So you dismiss the words of an International player who recently played at the World Cup and won the double in his last season as nothing more than him trying to impress his new manager when he says Wenger played a big role in him coming to the club; yet you believe that a "costa rican gangster teenager", as you put it yourself, displays an adequate protrayal of Wenger despite even his club President saying that the boys made a mistake? Strong logic.....

Whatever really motivates the player will win out.

Anything said by the player, agent, managers around a move can be taken with plenty of salt.

Not dismissing his words at all

I'm dismissing your assertion that his words are vindication of Wenger's policy.

What else is a new signing gonna say eh?

As for MC Campbell, he's a 19 yr old kid from one of the least hearalded football countries in the world, he's just been offered the chance of a lifetime in coming to the english premiership, he turned it down. Something is seriously wrong there, no?

I am confused.

What do you know about Campbell that the rest of us don't?

Gangster?
an MC?

Have you been PMing him on Twitter?

As for Wenger's youth policy, yes Cole and Wilshere are the two that have made it as first regulars.
Gibbs looks on the verge of it too, injuries may scupper that.

Plenty others have made careers for themselves away from the club though, and the club has earned money from their sales.

a joke Quartz, a joke.

Are you saying our youth policy is designed for Arsenal FC to benefit financially rather than on the pitch?

And you're happy with that?

I'm confused too.
