Its Wengers fault that we haven't spent cash since 2005 - in the pursuit of his project.
By and large it is.

There was some belt tightening around the season when we opened the stadium and the following season.

There was a scare when a big buyer pulled out of buying about 40% of the Highbury flats, but sales now show the redevelopment has made a profit.

But even if the total amount of money to spend was reduced, it was Wenger who chose to buy poor players such as Squillachi and Eboue etc.

And more to the point, gave these players long contracts, and stick with them when their form was nothing special.

And it is Wenger who chose not to ask Keown to keep coaching defence after 2006.

I also think its part down to the fact that he loves it when it gets said that he breaks even or makes profits in transfer windows.

He'd love to be known as the manager who spent fuck all but still won the league or CL.

Exactly, that's what he wants. Also it has to be his team, the team that he has assembled, with no help from anyone else.

Although Gazidis has spoken out that this is not the case...
Arsene has no point of principle to show the world that he can build his own team of young players.
Although seems odd that he should mention it. To me if you have to mention that it's quite clearly a lie.

Looks like it even though he was logged on earlier there was no posts from him.He was given a platform for his views on this thread but he hasnt used it because he knows other posters will just ignore this thread because they know what way it would pan out.So it just proves he was only a WUM all the time.

I dont think he is a WUM, but i think the fact he repeats himself so much has done himself no favours. He make some valid points. Just over and over. I also agree that his total defence of wenger doesnt help either. And dont think has ever posted on tactics, or training, or anything like that. Which again questions his intentions.

BUT, I dont see the point of this thread and to be honest, think its a bit out of order.

You have the choice not to read his threads or posts. I've been wound up by his posts loads of times and got into never ending arguments, so just gave up, and ignored it. As I do when i see its a board post/thread repeating himself.

Lets be honest there are plenty of shit posts/threads on this forum not just marty, take me for an example. Yes i know everyone loves my threads  , but lets be honest sometimes, yes rarely i know, but they can be shit.

At the end of the day US does spark debate and emotion, which is what forums are all about.

He needs to stop repeating himself, and YES, hijacking threads. But apart from that I think he adds to the place.

I think Cockerills Chin's post on page 1 is very accurate as to the reasons for a thread like this and i honestly dont see what he adds to the forum

He's a gooner with passion. If he didnt go nuts posting on every thread on the same topic he'd be a valued member.

Its the fact he only post on that subject is what highlights him. And makes him look a bit like a WUM.

I think the better thing to have done would be to give him a warning that if he didnt stop hijacking threads with the same subject matter he'd be banned.

Wouldnt that be a bit more fair, rather than kind of hanging the guy in the stocks for apples to be thrown at him.

He's alive and well, and is certainly not a WUM.
He is passionate about The Arsenal, and is a fan, I know that.

I do also know that his posting style is... different, and he is a little obsessive,
and quite clearly the quantity of posts makes it a bit of a pain.

Saying that you're lucky here that you have multiple threads.

On the forum where I really got to know USM there is only one thread for all topics, and a few Australians on the forum, so everyone living in 'civilisation' would wake up and have to scroll through 10 pages of 'discussion' between USM and the Aussies before they could post, but even that was not so tricky.

Read it OR ignore it and scroll on.

Scrolling takes a fraction of a second.

Also we had an 'ignore' function on the other forum, where if we wanted to ignore a poster you clicked on his name and put him in a file marked 'enemies' or something, and then that person't posts wouldn't appear to you.
Must be possible on this forum too, and maybe an idea to think about.

But that is the problem Bren. He has been asked. He has been warned. On numerous occasions.

WUMing and trolling are not limited to just acting the bollocks to wind people up (Iceman etc).

It is also excessively posting in a style that negatively impacts on forum members' enjoyment of the forum and/or negatively impacts on the day to day operations of the forum. Unfortunately Marty ticks both boxes.

Just because someone loves the Arsenal does not mean they are not a troll or don't display troll like traits. I'm sure in Iceman's limited little world of Wenger worship he too probably loved the Arsenal but he came on here exclusively to troll the place. And we banned his sorry ass.

The two (trolling and loving The Arsenal) are not always mutually exclusive unfortunately.

I gave Marty the benefit of the doubt for a long time and tried to help him but in the end it was pointless. He cannot change and if he cannot change then I am for banning him for the greater good of the forum. Let's be honest, the place has gone downhill because of his thread hijacking and massive repetative posts on numerous threads.

People don't complain just for the sake of it (even augie and sid! ) they complain when something is ruining their enjoyment of the forum. Should we let one poster have such a huge negative impact? I say no.

But it isn't up to me. Mike has made a call on this one and there are certain things in place I cannot discuss. Martin's future on here is in his own hands.
