As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I still find it remarkable that people on here still want Wenger to leave but there you go.
well mate, i find it remarkable that db10gooner isn't tall enough to open the fridge by himself, but that doesn't mean i will go out calling him whatever i want to!
if you had read my original post you would have seen that I was just referring to some numbskulls who thought that they could buy beer on CL nights. Of course it then got twisted on here so.....
anyway as I have put in another thread I admit I have been a bit over the top in some of my comments so as from today am toning things down.
I will be in my usual position at the clock end for CL nights on Wednesday night with my now usual half time hot chocolate (or brown sludge as they prefer to serve at the Emirates)

don't forget to take your cushion, a sudoku puzzle, a packed lunch and a word search. and if I here you were talking too loudely while the game was on I'll have you thrown out. No way for fans to behave
L’Equipe: But it looks like you are obliged to rebuild once more. Just like at the start…
Wenger: It’s true, a new cycle is starting. When we left Highbury, I set my sights on a long-term project with a young team. It didn’t produce the results I’d hoped for. Yes, we have to rebuild.
this is good to hear. he acknowledges the 'wenger project' was a big fail.
good stuff. it's better than trying to come up with pathetic excuses.

It does sound like he's admitted the project was a massive flop and lets hope this means he is going to spend more and more from now on

he does say that the objective has changed to a more "short-termism", and it's easy to see that he is going for a bit more of experience than before.
let's hope he spreads the philosophy to at least a point where we spend back the money we receive for our players, instead of cashing in and promoting shit from within like djourou and diaby
Do you guys not remember all of AW's lies? Do you not remember the Times interview he gave before the srat of the 2010/11 season when he admitted that if it all went wrong that Project Youth was dead? I'll repeat: Wenger will say ANYTHING to give the perception that he will abandon Youth bollocks. But I don't buy it. He'll never do it because it will be a massive admission he was wrong. I still can't believe he spent £50 million upwards the summer just gone by and couldn't end up with one world-class standard player (or even close).
If he says this, it might get the pressure off his back a while. But remember even when we were losing Cesc over Cesc's disillusion with his lack of ambition what did AW do? He bought Chamakh and Shitachi. Nothing will change and if 'experience' is brought in, it will be along the lines of Choo Young/Squillaci/Chamakh/Andre Ayew/Moussa Sow etc....
What we need to hear in clear terms is that top-quality players above a certain price bracket who are confirmed stars/the best young players in Europe will be sought.
After seven years of bullshit, lies, incompetence and failure, it's the least we should expect imo....
