I think Emma West is on remand for this offence, meaning she is in prison over the christmas period. Being remanded in prison for this offence is harsh even though the woman was vile.
How can her sentence be justified as fair, however, when suspended sentences are handed to a violent attack on a young white girl by three Somalian Muslims? The attackers screamed "kill the white slag" before they attacked her so why wasn't this treated as a racist attack?
Racism in all forms needs to be addressed equally by the judiciary or it undermines all the genuine good work that is being done. Instances like this really frustrate me as it can provide a real obstacle to challenging prejudice behaviour. For all those involved in prosecuting this case, shame on you .
