Re: Wenger out chants

I thought about what could be sung to AW. (?)
The reason why there has been so much agro and divide over AW his past history with us. I totally understand someone calling him a cunt o Fuck off! as supporters it's our divined right to express our opinions. Equally it's also harsh given how much, before all this crap, he has done for us and this is how the infights start.

The majority agree that change is now needed. Before anyone starts on 'The board' this is to do with Wenger and Wenger only. The board is another matter I agree but for the time being they don't pick the team and the tactics....well not that there is any tactics used!

So I got thinking how we could ask AW to go and in a polity and respectful mannor....
The banner is spot on with its wording. It acknowledges his past and thanks him yet asks him to move on.
If something was polity penned I'm sure many would be vocal about it, maybe even the AKB's?

How about:
"We judged you last May! We judged you last MAAYYYY!
Thanks for the memories, We judged you last May!"
(?)

or replace "We judged you last May!" with "Arsene step down & It's time to step down"

(Reword it but "Thanks for the memories" sits well in that song)

Any other suggestions? (without explitives!!  )
Good post Boomer. I remember quiet well in the 1991 season when we won the league again under GG, there was a real feeling that Graham would last only a few seasons more unless he changed the way we played and the team.

Sadly this time I think the powers that be, don't orwon't have that say or power.

Personally I sincerely hope he sees the lights and respects this great club without dragging it down to far(if not already), as with strong leadership things could be turned around quickly.

:D

I can quite believe it. Wouldn't be the first time I've heard people talk about chants aimed at the manager.

I was there as recently as Leeds at home and it was the biggest Wenger love-in I've witnessed in ages. Two defeats haven't suddenly swayed 30,000 people.

My old man, the chief AKB of block 2, still thinks the guy is the right man for the job even after yesterday and Swansea. He's not alone

People are seriously deluded if they think the Bowl is turning into some sort of anti-Wenger cauldron. The people like us, are a tiny tiny minority. The boos were out of frustration. I guarantee you that if we take the lead against Villa the chorus of "One Arsene Wenger" will be far louder than any booing you heard yesterday

And that is why, coupled with who the owners are, that he is here till 2014

What I do wonder is how many other categories of supporters there are out there, there's obv AKBs and Wenger Out lots but then in the middle (the group I was part of) was the "Wenger Out but who the fuck can we get to replace him that would be a step up" bandwagon - people who will have been looking at the likes of Ancelotti etc. I dont give a flying fuck now I want Wenger gone, I can't put up with this dross anymore. I dont care if the board get a cheap option like Brendan Rogers (bad example) in but we need new ideas, his excuses have worn very very thin after we see the same old pathetic roll overs every week

This post is spot on. I know a season ticket holder i used to work with and still stay in touch with who is late 50's and he wont have a word said against Wenger. there is a long way to go before the majority are anti Arsene

We don't need to be in the majority, we only need to make enough noise, the media and press will jump on the bandwagon, Wenger's days are numbered.
As I posted on another thread, our upcoming games don't look good for him, and by the time we play s***s, I reckon he will be under huge huge pressure, and I can see them giving us a pasting.

True. This forum is only a tiny percentage of Gooners and most are here because we more or less all agree on the Wenger issue; like attracts like, as they say. I would venture that the majority of Arsenal fans still don't want him out, whether it be through rank stupidity, blind loyalty, stubborn optimism or fear of the unknown, I don't know. :?

I think the crowd will turn on Wenger if we start losing with our first team playing.

the fact is we have 1st and 2nd choice left backs/right backs out injured so of course we will struggle. Also we were without our 2 most creative midfielders yesterday.

therefore I think the majority will continue to back Wenger for now.

I am also impressed at the new talent such as Oxlade-Chamberlain coming through. Bought by Wenger. Started by Wenger and will thrive under Wenger.

I certainly didn't see it that way and nor did the people around me (block 5)

I agree the ref played his part in yesterdays defeat but it's a small significant compared to the team and Wenger. The "Don't know what your doing" came literally moments after the Ox's sub.

Remember Park and Arshavin were waiting a long time to come on. They were by the touchline before the equaliser and were told to sit down once we scored. The Ox played his part in the goal getting the assist and the next attack after that was instrumental. He was literally flying and having the freedom of the left flank. Fergie had even made his decision to take (Sub) Rafael back off!
Park and Arshavin returned to come. All around me just knew what Wenger was going to do. Park came on for Ramsey.
Then as soon as the Ox's number went up the whole stadium rang out a chorus of boo's. From where I was the whole west side (main) jumped up not in admiration/respect at a usual sub but in anger. Arms pointing and throwing in Wengers direction, not the odd one or two but the vast majority of that side of the ground.
Seconds later came the chant "You don't know what your doing!"

If it was meant for the ref then that was a brilliant accident as most, me included, aimed it towards Wenger!

I was still writing my (above) response but this just confims that you and me both and the vast majority directed that at Wenger.

I wasn't there SWL. as I have said before. I won't be back until either Wenger is gone or a proper protest is organised.
As for the chants yesterday, they certainly came accross on television as being directed at Wenger, and were reported as such this morning on 5 live.
In block 6 those chants were directed at wenger and not the ref

Point taken, and I think it largely depends on who it was. I was aiming them at Wenger but I fear most weren't.

Think the media are just trying to stir shit. Long may it continue.

It was definitely aimed at the manager. The Ref had done nothing wrong at that point to warrant the chant. I was in Block 2 and it was blocks 1, 2, 3 closest to the bench that sang as one and were pointing in his direction.

Let no one try and say different
