He was shite in frnace and he is even more shite now
Average. Plenty of players in the prem for 10-11 mil would of done a far better job.
Bapa is right on this one.

Perhaps you should change your monnicker to BlahBlahtunde or 'Arry' or I Love S***s, as you have yet to contribute anything 'constructive' since you arrived - do you not yet get it - We ALL hurt, we all want change but there is a way to go about voicing those wants, what appears to be more than coincidence is that your posts (always full of negativity and bile) are always made when we have not had a good result.Babatunde wrote:I told you all. Watched him play at Lille and he was budget there, looked inferior to Moussa Sow and of course Hazard was the real baller in that team. I said it back then and will say it again: no football brain, rubbish first touch, no awareness whatsoever of what's around him (remember the lack of pass to RVP at Ewood park), no skill, shocking crossing and little end product.
He's the Ivorian Tony Daley as I said before, a poor man's Kalou (like you can get shitter than Kalou).
Funny thing is, Wenger will sign Kalou too next summer, watch. Wenger is now actively helping the Chavs get rid of their shite, first Benayoun and soon Kalou...
I digress. What's even funnier is the 'I won't judge him yet'?
Really? Funny that excuse I keep hearing from Arsenal fans. You have the most expensive tickets in European football yet, you 'cannot judge' players the imbecile manager has spent £11 mil on until after more than one year!!! Only at Arsene FC. Hilarious. So errr...does it require that much time to judge whether a player can control a ball, spot a free man and cross a ball? Really? Does a player on £70k a week need a whole year before one can evaluate his first touch?
Papis Cisse cost less than Gervinho and also came from another league.
Funny how Newcastle fans judged him good enough a few months in...
Demba Ba cost far less than Gervinho and also came from a foreign league.
Funny how West Ham fans (and now Newcastle) could spot his quality after a few short months.
Juan Mata comes from a foreign league also, slighter physical frame...but doesn't take long to realise how good he is does it?
Luka Modric came from a foreign championship that is barely competitive etc...how long did it take Spuds to figure out how good he was?
Why is it then, with Arsenal players, deluded fans are always going on about 'judging in a year'?
Did ye not all claim Chamakh need a year to be judged? And Almunia? And Mertesacker? And could we not judge Park since 'he doesn't get enough game time' (erm there's a reason for that!)...
You're either good enough or not. Sure some players need time to adapt to the pace of a league etc but flashes of quality always come out. Bergkamp took ages to settle but you could see his quality. Ljungberg is a false example as he destroyed Man United at Highbury in one of his very first appearances - you need to be pretty dam good to do that. Pires took time but had flashes of brilliance.
Gervinho, the pregnant forehead, does nowt but show flashes of unadulterated, shite.

Everyone IS entitled to their opinion but there are better ways to express those opinions that lashing out at anyone who doesn't agree with those opinions...all Gooners want The Arsenal to WIN, end of, to be successful, just because some don't turn to rancid comments doesn't mean they care or hurt any less....
I'm as p*ssed off and frustrated with gervinho as any Gooner, and have cursed him from his hole to his pole when watching him but that's in the privacy of my home and not on a public forum, THAT miss against £hitty was inexcusable (almost)...maybe (and I say this with fingers crossed) he will come good next season,...maybe not - in that case we'll have another Camel earning Mega Wonga for being Not Good Enough...THEN you can berate him...but at least give him a chance.
When Ramsey first arrived he showed real potential and 'quality' - he is coming back from an injury that could easily have wrecked his career/dream, yes, he's proving to be "USELESS" at this moment in time, But I (againm) hope he will get through whatever it is he is battling with and once again show his 'quality'

Never saw Gervinho do anything that great for Lille or Cote D'Ivoire
(thought he was a little expensive)
He still hasn't delivered for us yet either
but still crossing fingers for next season, Wenger can often see something others don't
Don't listen to Baba, he's successfully predicted 27 of our last 5 defeats.

Problem is this guy isnt young. He had a full year in france playing weaker teams at a much slower rate. I really dont see how playing in a faster leauge against stronger teams is going to make this guy better.
he will never suit our style of play as his final touch is so bad. He is a shite version of theo but slower.

Bunch of pathetic moaners....
It's his first season in England and he's had that African Cup rubbish in the middle of it.
Bet you will be singing his praises next season.

Haha, quality - enjoyed that comment! Only pops his head up when we lose as well!
On topic - Gervinho has it all to do for me, he is very good at getting past his man (did this well on Monday night to be fair) but his end product is AWFUL.......he has no confidence or presence infront of goal.
That said, he deserves another year - the ACN wont have done him any good, nor will the injuries and suspensions he has suffered. He is actually a half decent outlet away from home, he brings the ball forward - but cannot cope in the box and that needs to change massively for him to succeed here.

Re: GERVINHO
Gervinho is a shocking player. I honestly think he has nowt. He has no bottle and lacks any form of character. (as anyone who watched his shocking behaviour during the penalty shoot out in the final of African cup of nations could vouch for) Would not get the time of day at Man Utd, but then again Fergie would not do such bad business.
I cannot believe Wenger spent 12M of the club's money on such a lightweight. A disgraceful piece of transfer business.
Wenger should hold his head in shame. It was an appalling signing. Why do we buy such obvious crap, yes, such obvious crap. Think where we could have spent that sort of money.

Why do we have to give him another year? Are we in a position to give such players 2 seasons to adapt?
We are meant to be competing for the title and with such a player in the team can we really do that?
He is good at running at the ball granted. But that’s it really.
If money is spent in the summer I see Gervinhos role mostly in doubt. We urgently need an attacking player that can be depended on. We already have theo who is still adapting and they play a similar game.
So along with RVP we have Theo and Gervinho, neither are consistent. At least with Theo he has glimpses of brilliances that can really change a game.
In truth Theo and Gervinho are not good enough.

The excuse culture at Arsenal has gone on for so long (mainly from the manager) that it has understandably infiltrated the terraces. I am not buying into all this. Well said Babatunde

He looked ok at that early in the season but even that's disappeared from his game now. Half the time he looks like he's beaten his man but instead of pushing it ahead & using his pace he checks back in/outside, only to try & go back the way he was going a second ago - only by now that option's gone. It's like he over thinks things so much his head might expl… oh.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote: Gervinho has it all to do for me, he is very good at getting past his man (did this well on Monday night to be fair) but his end product is AWFUL.......he has no confidence or presence infront of goal.

Its what happens to most players , or its what it looks for in a player
Hleb
Theo
Gervinho
If you have no end product but can run fast or dribble the ball past players wenger will buy you or turn you into said player

Just like you told us all this about Kos:Babatunde wrote:I told you all. Fact.
Laurent Koscielny. Lorient must still be wetting themselves at how much money they managed to scam Arsenal of for this mediocre simpleton. Could you honestly see Wenger paying £10.5 million for an English defender who had been playing in Legaue 1 two years ago??!
As someone who has actually watched Koscielny play football regularly for more than one season (watched him at Lorient too), I will affirm that is utter rubbish.
You do know your stuff Bab"s. I'm only surprised no one has hired you to be their scout yet with all the vast amount of knowledge you have of all footballers?
