Save your money mate, Diaby will probably twist his ankle as he steps off the treatment table.

Please tell me he's in his final year. Like it matters. Wenger will give him a 5 year extension.

Papers saying Wilshere back in October rather than mid September as reported two weeks ago.

Whilst I am very much in the group of fans who prefers players not to be rushed back from injury lest they be not fully healed and make things worse, I really wonder just what is going on with Wilshere.

Not a medical man but would love to see his report to see what is actually going on and how they are treating it.

Our medical team is frankly a joke. Diaby and Rosicky have spent most of their careers at Arsenal on the treatment table. Maybe they're just those kind of players, in the same way that Hargreaves and Owen have struggled in the later half of their careers to stay fit wherever they've been. But the way that Vermaelen and Wilshere's injuries have been handled have been nothing short of a farce. Vermaelen certainly should have been operated on straight away and they both should have been allowed to heal for a sufficient period, but instead they were both evidently rushed back and broke down or picked up complications likely related to the initial injury. And don't even get me started on RvP.

Wenger said: “Hopefully, we will get Wilshere back playing for October.

With Abou Diaby returning, it will be like signing two new players. This season, the squad will be strong and competitive.”
I actually thought I was reading Up The Arse when I saw that. You couldn't make it up. In fairness to Diaby I have seem him play with some skill. Scored with a beautiful header at Old Trafford in 2009... my ManUre supporting mates were delighted with that own goal. :banghead:

That was the last chance for "the new Patrick Vieira" as far as I am concerned.

I'd be surprised if neither Giroud or Podolski plays despite what's been said

Henry lends support to injured Arsenal midfielder Wilshere

The 34-year-old New York Red Bulls forward has suggested the Gunners "need" the playmaker, who has been out of action for exactly one year, back in the first team

Henry is currently plying his trade in the MLS for New York Red Bulls after spending eight years at the north London club, and he recognised the value of having players that share a local connection with the club, such as the England international.

"You want Wilshere around," Henry told Sky Sports News.

"He reminds me of when I first arrived when the old guard was there. He's an Arsenal fan in the first place and you need this type of player around in the dressing room.

"It's not only that he's an Arsenal fan, and not only an Englishman, but he's a good player, it's as simple as that.

"What a shame that he stopped a bit because he was on his way. I just wish him all the best that he can come back quick and wear the shirt he loves so much."

Wilshere has spent a wretched year on the sidelines following a spate of injuries that coincidentally began with a knock sustained in a friendly with the Red Bulls exactly a year ago.

And although the prognosis is concerning, with Wilshere not expected to return until October at the earliest, his manager Arsene Wenger did label his and Abou Diaby's return from injury akin to two new signings.

"I saw what the boss said the other day and I will say what he said - hopefully they will sign this year Wilshere and Diaby,” Henry added.

"I thought it was a clever thing for him to say as usual.

"You need those guys around. Mikel Arteta did extremely well, but you need those guys also in the squad."

Arsenal complete their pre-season with a final fixture against FC Koln on 12 August.

Are you fucking sure... ???

The same henry that said in this interview that he hopes rvp stays but that if he goes then life will go on - do as i say not as i do eh thierry ? Coming from a guy that won a load of medals with us but still spent 2 yrs looking to leave, I think suggesting that rvp should stay is a bit hypocritical

I feel a bit less moody with players who win things then go
than with Hleb/Flamini who fail then bail

Unfortunately, all Wenger has produced since 2006 is 2 types of player;

1. Those that fail.
2. Those that fail then bail.

:(

Wilshere you already consider a failure? Pretty harsh, he's not exactly old

"Wilshere suffers new injury setback...
...But it appears the club are far more pessimistic about the midfielder's recovery and do not expect him to return to first-team action until mid-November at the earliest."
