Welcome new posters

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: Welcome new posters

Post by begeegs »

I've been around on here for a long time, but mostly lurking until the last few months.

Been a supporter since I was a kid when I got this game called 'Football Manager' for the Commodore 64. Had players like Hoddle, Stapleton, Shilton, etc. Was a great game and I was hooked. I was Arsenal on it and won all of the championships, etc. Woo hoo!

As for Wenger - I want him gone, but I am resigned to him being here until the end of his contract, so trying to stay relatively positive. It looks like now Wenger is being shown for being tactic-less. We get Bould in as Asst and the organization gets better, but now going forward, we look like crap. So now, we have a Manager who is just a glorified accountant.

Roll on 2014....

why does everyone keep mentioning 2014 as if something miraculous is going to happen?

If Wenger wants to extend his contract then Stan Kroenke will extend it for him.
If he doesnt then does anyone really think that Kroenke & Gazidis are capable of geting anyone better than Wenger in to do the job?

Put it this way if Wenger resigned last summer then Arsenal would be playing in the Europa League this season at best.

Fellow Gooners

Born and raised in the birthplace of our beloved Arsenal...now residing in Sidcup.

Became a Gooner at 10 years old in 'May 89' just to spite my 'muggy glory hunting sperm donor' and Ive never
looked back. Went to Highbury maybe a dozen times, most memorable 4-2 v Victims, Thierry at his absolute best!
Was in the armchair for a while but been down the Grove nearly every home game for past 2 years with my two boys showing them how it's done.

Been browsing this site for a few months now, noticed this thread and thought I'd say hello to you miserable lot!!
FFS cheer up..... :barscarf:

Read more of the threads than post, been supporter since can remember, first game I remember being taken by my Father and walking in the stadium was like Nick Hornby in Fever Pitch, (Season ticket Holder for 25 years), 47 living in Essex moved out from East London. Have to be frustrated like everyone else with poor player contract management but won't stop going! :barscarf: :barscarf:
Block 2 10 rows behind dug out so try to get my point across to Wenger
