As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Scez should start if fit, but I reckon Wenger will start Mannone irrespective of scez' fitness. I reackon he's been dropped and Wenger is now entering the same situation he did when he first dropped Lehmann. Almunia came in played ok (was even being linked with Ingerland)
Al then has a bad game, Wenger brings back lehmann, who has now been put under unnecessary pressure, he makes a mistake, back comes a trembling Al to fuck up again. Wenger has now put himself between a rock and a hard place.
He plumps to stick with Al the rest is history.
Are you embarrassed or just angry? Does me pointing out your mistakes and hypocrisy mean I am an AKB or is it more sensible to view me as tired of your bullshit?
No you're not an AKB. Just a comical apologist pointing out minor discrepancies, which have done absolutely nothing to discredit the essence of my point i.e that Scezney is shite and not good enough.
So just to reiterate: statistically, Scezney was one of the worst goalkeepers in the whole of England last season.
He was also by some distance, the most comically inept keeper at Euro 2012. I won't even mention how many howlers he made last season (Norwich at home, Old Trafford, Spuds beaten by Kyle Walker simple shot, the idiotic pens conceded).
I repeat he isn't fit to lace Manninger or Lukic's boots; let alone a Seaman or Lehmann or Jennings.
If anyone can prove how good Scezney actually is, using factual evidence then am all for it.
It won't happen though.
Szczesny. It's not even a question worth discussion. Both fully fit, WS gets the start, simple.
Are Arsenal fans really this fickle? Have we already forgot what a top job WS has done over the last couple seasons despite his young age and inexperience? VM has played what, 3 decent games (not exceptional) against 3 relatively middle-of-the-pack opponents.
I'm getting annoyed by this even being a point of discussion. Yes Mannone has shown some quality and some confidence but Wojciech is the #1 for a reason, he battled for it and he has the potential to be world class. It's been a shaky last half year for him, but he's done a lot to get his starting position and it shouldn't be stripped so easily.
WS1 is also a much, much better penalty shot stopper.
And for the record, statistics are a bit of a foolish endeavor when it comes to keepers. The most important aspect of a keeper, controlling your penalty area and inspiring confidence in your defenders, those kinds of things aren't noted statistically but carry huge weight. WS communicates loudly with his defense.
Chesney is quite rightly number 1 - he is having a dip in form (the Euros didnt help) and that can be debated and discussed but he IS a quality goalkeeper who will only improve.
That said, Don Vito has been fantastic - what i like about him is he has really stepped up, didnt give up - went away and worked hard. Hardly comprable, but Mo Farah was a mediocre runner, but we made changes, went away and worked hard. Vito realised that he had to improve massively to have a career in England - with Arsenal or otherwise - and looks to have made those changes.....
Chesney plays when fit, but DV is looking a much better no.2 than our previous incumbents!
I have pointed out that you have made inaccurate statements...again.
You have also misquoted your own stats source
His save percentage is 6% better than Robinsons
I'd give up on the facts Baba, you make them up as you go and you aren't clever enough to pull it off with smokescreens about apologists or AKBs. Your inconsistent vile against Arsenal is coming over like Adrian Durham. Crap for crap's sake with no consistency in the argument. Keyboard diarrhea.

It's a point of discussion regardless though, it's the same situation as to whether you drop Vermaelen or Per to bring back Koscielny. We won the last game, do you change a winning formula or shake things up. Taking into account our next game is at the home of the champions it's a very reasonable point to debate.

Yes indeed pal, discussing who's shitter between fat Robinson and Chesney has sure shut me up.
Shit sandwich or vomit smoothie?

Laughable. Indeed. What has Chesney actually done or ever proved on the big stage? He's a liability, his main credential is not being Almunia
He's done nothing yet is talked of as if he's Gordon Banks
No lets turn it around what did Manninger do? I agree that Chesney is not as good as some people say and its mainly due to Almunia and Flappy preceding him but you talk about Manninger as if he was Gordon Banks. There is very little difference between Manninger and Chesney the main difference being Chesney is the number 1 at the moment and Manninger was understudy to one of the best keepers in our history.
Talk of Chesney not being fit to lace Manningers boots is as i said laughable
