Always hated Burberry scarves ,haven't Bought anything Stone Island since about 2005 when I bought a very nice thick woolen cardigan which was the nuts gave all my Jackets to my son having carefully !
At 54 one has to maintain a more dignified look whilst still being stylish ,Hugo Boss raincoat and a cashmere crew neck ,armani jeans and a pair of good old churches loafers for this sort of game.
Personally I would drink in the Wakefield arms for this one but you have to be careful as they dont like interlopers and they do know their own .

Others saying he was part of a Gooner mob that went into the station after the ICF and when our lot ran he stood his ground and was over run. I recall some reports saying he was armed too, with a pool cue or broom handle? Typical press... print every rumour they hear, hope something sticks. But either way he was outnumbered, mobbed and then murdered by cowards.

It was a catalystic moment for me hearing that an Arsenal fan had been murdered by Wham filth. I've hated them ever since.
He was going home but he went down to the station with about 8 others .
West Ham had been chased up to Finsbury Park but instead of going home they went up to Manor House and waited ,coming back an hour later. The 8 on the platform waiting for the southbound train got the shock of their lives as 300 ICF come flying off the train, they ran up to where the two tunnles merge whereupon another fella turned to fight or hold them up I'm not sure which ,there was a broom there next to the sand bucket for fires th which John waved about a bit but the other fella got a kicking and had his arm broken and John was stabbed with a stanley knife which went through the ribs and nicked his heart,he then ran and collapsed with blood pouring out of his heart in St Thomas's road ,as the brave member's of the Ice cream firm continued to kick him before people ran out of the supporters club to rescue him .
When the Police investigated the incident they asked for witnesses and the others came forward, but since they didn't find the culprit they charged the 8 with conspiracy to cause affray and they got put down for 18 months .The inspector in charge didn't give a toss about catching his murderer just wanted to put someone in jail for it .
Two West Ham confessed to kicking him and got 3 months the others just clammed up although a lot of them tried to put each other in the frame and they fell out .
I moved to New York the following month!

At a home game vs West Ham, my memory is not great but would have been in 86,87 or 88, I was on the North Bank when a rumour swept the terrace that one of ours had been stabbed by them at half time.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

This will be my first time going to West Ham away so am looking for abit of help.

Im meeting a friend at Canning Town underground station and walking to the ground from there along Barking Road.
Im just wondering if there is anywhere that would welcome away fans to stop for a few pints before the match.

Ive heard about pubs such as the Denmark arms but wasnt sure what peoples thoughts are.

I know at most away games there is a pub where alot of away fans will gather before the match, im guessing its not like that at West Ham as i cant find any pubs that are like that.

Any help would be much appreciated

Matt

Stop panicking mate. If you're not wearing colours go in any pub and have a beer. No ones gonna have a pop at you

I remember the game well. I was a school kid on the NB that day. There was a really bad atmosphere. As was the case in those days everyone knew something would happen during the game. Only it turned out to be a really nasty one. There were 2 orange smoke bombs, one of which went off right next to us. Couldn't see a thing. When the smoke cleared it was a riot zone. Remember the story of that bloke getting stabbed. That was typical of WH at the time. Real nasty fuckers.

that fat *word censored* walrus of a whore allardyce will give them strict instructions to get in our faces, kick Santi to pieces and lob as many long balls into our box as possible....Wenker needs to bring Mert back..not only is Kos playing shyte the past few games...but his height to challenge carrol and his tactical know how will be indispensable.

All our players need to be switched 'On' from the first second, but Arteta needs to have a great game...holding the mid-field together...Pods strength and goal scoring skills will win us the game!

No they are running a train for the football now. Football train between west ham and barking via upton park between 2pm and 11pm. From Central london - Jubilee line to west ham to conect to that service

Wonder how long it'll be before Nolan tries to leave an imprint of his studs on Cazorla or Arteta? Allardyce really is a fucking nasty piece of work, particularly alongside scum like Nolan and Carroll.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog ... gs-weekend

Koscielny out, Mertesacker in

"Laurent Koscielny's rather inept display against Chelsea last week did contain at least one positive note for Arsène Wenger, as it solved any selection headache he might have had over who to play alongside Thomas Vermaelen in Saturday's game at Upton Park. If Koscielny can be pushed around by Fernando Torres, hardly the most physical of strikers, then he has little chance against either Carlton Cole or, more likely, Andy Carroll. And so Per Mertesacker should regain his place. But Arsenal close the door on one selection problem only to open another. With Abou Diaby out injured, again, there is a space in the middle that could be filled either by Aaron Ramsey or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The latter is still learning, the former is still regressing. And then there is the question of Gervinho. The Ivory Coast international often looks like an embarrassed teenager on an early sexual encounter; he's scoring, yet most of his time is spent fumbling around without really knowing what to do. But who could come in ahead of him? Olivier Giroud, who has been poor so far? Or the ever inconsistent Theo Walcott? Either way, there is plenty for Wenger to ponder. "

Continued tension between Allardyce and Wenger

Just how does Sam Allardyce release all that anger at Real Madrid's continued, exasperating refusal to make him their manager? Well, he usually has a pop at Wenger. Here are a few choice samples:

August 2010: "I have to remind Arsène that his team, which used to win the league, was the dirtiest in the league. If you cast your mind back to when they were winning the league, they had more sendings-off and bookings than anyone else."

September 2010: "Arsène has most of the media in his pocket now and is almost – almost – affecting the officials so that you can't tackle an Arsenal player."

April 2011: "I don't know him well enough to like him or dislike him, but I think his own self-importance takes him into an area where he can become rude with what he does, in terms of ignoring you and ignoring what you do. For instance, he's not shaken my hand in the past and walked straight down the tunnel because he's frustrated with one thing or another."

For fans of petty squabbles everywhere, let's hope Wenger does something to annoy Allardyce – perhaps forget to offer him a Polo mint on the sidelines, for instance – when Arsenal play West Ham this weekend."

I know he would get banned for 3 months from the touchline etc...but I would LOVE Wenker to just kick that fat *word censored* sweaty *word censored* gimpo allardyce in the nuts... :box: :box: :box: :high5:
