As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Belated condolences, Rugby. Lost my dad to cancer in 2008 and it's hard to get through it, mate. It doesn't get easier with time but you do learn to live with it. You'll find yourself thinking about him at the oddest moments and funnily enough that will be comforting, and it'll make you smile and cry in equal parts. We were all with my pops at the end too, and that also will help you and your family in the long term - to know he passed surrounded by the people he loved.
appreciate that flash, she's still here though so you draw strength from them fighting it dont ya
Stay strong mate and hope for the best miracles do happen sometimes
It's true, mate. Whilst I lost my dad to the big C, my mum survived a very close call back in 2003. She was blessed tbh. So as Flash says, stay strong. Your strength can help your mum, mate.

it does help talking about it so you know the gooner lads are here for you
RIP
You're right about talking about it skizz_b. The Macmillan nurses are truly angels too mate. No matter that they deal with it on a daily basis, they are the most compassionate people that I have ever encountered.
Sorry to hear about you loss mate, I lost my own Dad suddenly three weeks ago, he was 43. He was a gooner and made me one too which is the biggest give you can receive. Remember him in your heart and he will always be there with you, my thoughts are with you.

Rugby, I lost my Dad on the 3rd October too but 22 years ago now. I felt cheated cos he went at a relatively young age.
From this initial grief you're going through, happy memories of him will slowly take over and that's why time is a healer.
You never forget your Old Man, no matter how long goes by.
All the best to you and yours matey

Struth Deise, 43 is no age at all mate, condolences to you and your family....
I guess it puts trivial stuff that you gets us all annoyed about into perspective eh ?
Live your live to the full, enjoy it, treasure your friends and family, do the things that you want to do when you get the chance to.
