Actually the trouble started with Schalke supporters messing up the city and some fan grounds. Then police and BVB fans got involved and it all was a big mess :rubchin: that’s not the football we love :rubchin:

You will play a very strong team on Wednesday and so you will have the comparison to last year on the pitch and on the stands.

Good luck for your game, hope you win!

Cheers, Thomas

Hi Thomas. Do schalke have a reputation or were the problems just because it was a local derby?
Shalke do not have a Hooligan problem it was purely down to the local derby. The Germans can be very naughty when they want to

The last time we played there and The Horse got sent of it was a very friendly atmosphere. They just dont like Dortmund fans. Sorry Thomas we all know your a friendly bunch :barscarf:

Hi, it was related to the local derby. I don't think that you will have any troubles with them, altough like your local rivial Chelsea they have blue and white colours  !

They will be pretty loud in the stadium too...so you better get your home support straight

Cheers,
Thomas

Our home support will be as quiet as mice I'm sad to say.... It does though appear that we are taking a lot more to the game in Germany this time than we did to Dortmund last year so hopefully we'll be able to make a decent enough noise there.

My hunch on this one is a 2-2 draw with poor defense on display from both sides.

Going purely off instinct, don't know much of anything about Schalke these days.

please can we, for once, not concede from the oppositions first shot...
Any Shea/Martinez rumours, feeling deeply concerned by Teflon Vito

excited to see Draxler and Holtby

You don't buy into the Self Harmer's view that his half a dozen mediocre performances for Hull have 'given him the mentality to be a Number 1' then

Deeply concerned sums it up my friend - he's fucking dire, always has been and always will be. Still, I'm sure there's a 3 year contract being drawn up as we speak

Affelay is a player that we should have bought in the summer in my opinion so will be interested to see how he does tonight - personally I dont really care if he plays bad cos he still pisses all over the forehead in terms of talent and ability
Will also be interesting to see huntellar in action tonight - again imo he is a good goalscorer and I wouldnt be against us buying him (contract expires next summer I think) but his lack of pace might make him unsuitable for the premiership. Mind you he is probably as fast as giroud and van persie before him was no speed merchant either.

As I have said already, this is a competition that I have fcuk all interest in us being in. That being said this is a big game for other reasons - the team need to bounce back after saturday and I expect that they will as a nice home fixture is very convenient for them. However if we fail to win tonight and turn in another abject performance it might make things a little more interesting tomorrow at the agm and give the opponents to the current regime a little more ammo going in

I totally agree that Don Vito is not good enough, but - advocating putting in Martinez / Shea in at this stage is a bit foolhardy really, neither have any first team experience really whatsoever and this is a game we need to win.

That said, id rather have Almunia in goal tonight than any of them!

Just watching ssn and they pointing out tht we have a great record at home in the group stages, and schalke have a terrible away record against english clubs, so im going to predict victory for schalke tonight.

Hoping for a reaction after the Norwich debacle. We shall see.

Hoping to see this line up for tonight.

........................Mannone

Jenks..........Per..........TV5.......Santos

..............Arteta........Coquelin

Ramsey............Caz............Pod

.................Forehead

Lots of injuries but most of them seem slight with Gibbs, Walcott and the Ox reportedly back for the weekend with possibly, Jack and Sagna in the running as well.

If we start the Forhead as some sources are saying then 2-0 loss. We won't score with him playing.
