Re: Swansea FA Cup Thread
Would be lovely if FIFA came up with a new tournament solely for Morocco, Wales, Switzerland, Denmark and the Ivory Coast. Of course there would still be the problem of these players making their national squads, no givens.
Re: Swansea FA Cup Thread
Sorry lads,
I'd like to jump the queue and try a more optimistic approach
towards the outcome of this one:
Swansea - Arsenal 1-3.
True, Swansea are enjoying a very good season and have put together a couple of very impressive performances home and away especially, but we should be capable of scoring goals on the counter - I cannot see Swansea sitting back at their own ground, so there will be more space for our strikers...

To miss easy chances.

Please please please let us win a match that fucking matters
Last time I travelled to an away cup game Lord Wenger played a bunch of wankers at Stoke and we got what we deserved. If he dares to do the same tomorrow and play Mannone & chums, then he really does deserve to be abused by his own fans like never before. Fuck the City game - this is the one that matters

+1 steveO Fa cup is all thats left this season, bayern will bum us in the champ lge

Re: Swansea FA Cup Thread
It is! after our perfect impression of a frozen Christmas turkey up at Bradford, we're now down to one realistic chance of a trophy. We're getting closer and closer to a whole DECADE without a trophy, and that - of a club our size - is shocking. Wenger or no Wenger, that cannot be allowed to happenSteveO 35 wrote:Please please please let us win a match that fucking matters

We simply HAVE to beat Swansea at all costs!
Re: Swansea FA Cup Thread
Exactly mate - but I suspect we'll still be in the tiny minority who won't be celebrating like crazy if we scrape 4th spot in May. Honestly, how anyone can get even remotely excited by it anymore is beyond me. Why do we need to be in the CL? Does it help us to keep our best players - evidently not. Does it help us to sign any top class players - err..no. Is it fun watching a 3 month group stage against shite teams in front of half full stadia - err, no. Have we got any chance of winning it? I would gladly swap one FA Cup win at Wembley for any amount of CL Group stage boring shite that you could offer for two decades. How many fans talk about those thrilling CL Group games 10 years later compared to the first time they saw us win at Wembley. I hate the fucking competition with a passion because it exists to make Kroenke richer and as an excuse to carry on ripping off fans. The sooner we fail to qualify for the fucker the better in my book - sod the financial consequences. Kroenke will have to sell up or cough up if we keep missing out on it and is killing the club I love so I will not shed a single fucking tear if we finish 5th or lower

SteveO I have to say for somebody that rarely goes to away games, you don't half pick them with cup games in dumps like Stoke and Swansea where the likelihood is we'll play a weakened side and get turfed out. It's almost like you love misery, think of your kids mate!

I understand your thought process steve o but what happens if we see a repeat of the bradford game in that he picks a full strength team and we end up losing ? I remember being totally fcuking embarassed before kick off of the bradford game cos he played all our first choice players and I didnt think that we would need to play them to win that game but looked how that panned out

Re: Swansea FA Cup Thread
Even though we've been really poor recently and going against my normally pessimistic nature, I actually believe we are going to win this one. Mind you that's almost as much to do with the belief Swansea will be resting players for their semi-final midweek, than any strong confidence that our own players will play to their actually level - because despite how shite we've been, I genuinely think we've got better players than Swansea but a worse manager.

Re: Swansea FA Cup Thread
Just watchin the start of ITV's FA Cup highlights.
The opening clips of some wonderful FA Cup memories.
The great tradition. The FA Cup. Cup Final saturday on the telly (even if the gunners were not in it).
Some fantastic Arsenal performances and some not so good.
Then along comes Wenger and shits all over it.
