As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I think that we should run a book on how long it takes monreal to be acclimatised enough to make the starting 11 - personally I feel that santos will remain left back (esp after those words of support from le dick ) until gibbs returns so I will be interested to see if the excuse is cos he isnt quite match sharp or needs time to get used to our league and country or some such shite
We'll see how long it takes scumbag pullis to integrate his new signings into his starting 11

Whoever the left back is tomorrow they are in for a tough afternoon i think. If its Santos they will target him for being shite. If its Monreal they're gonna rough him up a bit, welcome to English football type of thing
He'll start well and everyone will say he's ace. Then he'll have a couple of dodgy performances and everyone will say he's shit and compare him to Santos. After a year or so, he'll be settled and everyone will call him "the best left back in the league/world" (whether he is or not is irrelevant).
Its something at least. I am going to work out the cost of players such as Santos, Arshavin, Diaby, Squallachi, Chamkah Bendtner to see how much money they have cost us.
If Santos was to be our left back then our season was even more over than it already is.
Im sure Bayern are looking forward to playing Santos as Nacho is cup tied.

my gran would look forward to playing against Santos let alone bayern, and shes been dead 7 years,we are gonna get mullered and thats if we play really well
Decent signing, proper competition for Gibbs and Santos can finally fuck off at the end of the season (if anyone is stupid enough to have him)
Also with Gibbs out for about 2 months there is no way you can have Santos playing week in week out, hes just utter shit. as for the Champs League, I would personally play Jenko or Sagna at LB and the other at RB.

Why would you want to let Gibbs go?
I think he has been outstanding this year, defensively he has improved massively, he has energy to burn and his crossing has also imrpoved.

Not sure I agree with it but I understand that view.
Gibbs is perenially crocked, he's been better this year but still missed about 7 weeks earlier in the season after getting injured at Wham. Fitness is arguably too unreliable to try and build a defence with him as a part, and what fucking use as a back-up is a player who's pretty likely to be injured if required?
As I said he has been better this season and as a footballer he's improved a lot but if we're having the same debate a year down the line I think we need to get shot.
