SUMMER TRANSFERS - Your thoughts on who did and did not sign

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

the local newspaper that published that is our local 'the guardian', probably the most reliable newspaper in these parts of brazil. this could actually happen... :)
I find this quite ironic, that as we signed him, you and your mates said he was useless and now he could end up at your local club...

i don't give much of a fuck about my local team, haven't watched one of their matches in a while just as i haven't yet been to their new 60,000 seater arena (sounds familiar?), but it will indeed be funny if santos ends up here.

gremio signed fabio aurelio last season from liverpool, but as you'd expect he got a serious knee injury on one of the first training sessions and is yet to play a match for the club

gremio is also a traditional brazilian club who hasn't won a major trophy since the early 2000s, and has been mostly average since then. oh, and they have a thing for selling their best players for little money (ronaldinho, anderson, lucas, emerson, etc)

nah, we're shit. have been shite for a while now. :(

there's always a couple of good players (neymar, oscar, thiago silva come to mind) but this is our worst crop of players of the last few decades. scolari has a massive job in front of him, expectations will be huge for the world cup at home.

gremio's president just said on radio that santos' deal done between both clubs and the player. only waiting for approval of the CBF (brazilian FA), deadline today at 7pm (GMT -3).

transfer window closes on tuesday, but since carnaval starts today, CBF will only reopen by wednesday, meaning the deal has to be done today. that's what i call professionalism

that's over 1000 miles from where i live, so better drink some red bulls before mate

it's happening though. i'd say it's 90% done deal, shame it's only a loan till the end of the season. however, with both gibbs and nacho in the squad i don't think we'll be seeing more of santos anyway.

EDIT: 7pm and nothing in the media so far... i'd guess deal wasn't completed in time :(
