Does anyone here read Arseblog?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

of course his denial must be the truth

im glad thats settled, it not like he's going to come on and say "well actually im creaming it from all sides of the Arsenal fence while being perched on the middle of it"

jesus when did people become so accepting of such bull!

oh bore off! Are you going to launch a full scale investigation? "Gareth Keenan Invetigates"

If it bothers you that much, sorry, but he has had his say and thats all he can do, same as you have yous.

To be honest, if i was him, and had built up a following, a respected blog and was offered a load of free stuff / trips, id grab it with both hands! You only live once.

Like i said earlier, he is very well respected in the wider Arsenal community and i find his blogs balanced (IE NOT TOO POSITIVE NOT TOO NEGATIVE). If you dont agree, im sure he would welcome any debate - its the usual bile and stupid comments that ruin any sort of debate on here, on his forum and other Arsenal media.
Talking of blogs how's Swale these days?

It's been shut twice mate about 5 years ago and again last year. I think the reasons are best left now but hopefully it won't happen again :barscarf:

Is this how the internet works? You libel someone/something & they magically appear to defend themselves and post some tits? :?

Cos if it is, I heard a 100% factually correct rumour that Shakira's fanny strangles orphaned baby pandas with its bare hands. And stole the Christmas club money before framing Arthur for it.

Your move, Shakira's fanny. You know what to do.

You should check out myarsenalopinion.blogspot.co.uk

No old flannel. Heartfelt criticism and opinion of the Club, Manager and players. Author tries to be balanced between supporting The Arsenal without getting attached about who currently represents it. Not everyone would agree with it, but it's written by a season ticket holder who's been going to Arsenal for 30 years.

He also criticises this place sometimes.

I am biased.

I hope you ain't lumping me in that - I have always been upfront about my unhappiness at his pro wenger slant and general all round skewed view of the reality of modern day AFC. All I said was that I appreciate the fact that he came on here to address the "accusations" against him (although I think accusations is an exaggeration ) cos many others would either come on here abusing all and sundry or would hide in the shadows saying nothing - forms are all about opinions whether we agree with those opinions or not 8)

As for Arseblog, understandable if you don't want to/can't go into too much detail but any chance you could elaborate on what "did a deal with the club" means re: the book being in the membership pack? Did you pay them to have it in there, vice versa, or neither? Issue being on your end obviously it makes a lot of business sense for a few reasons (fair enough on it's own imo), but where & how the club benefits from the deal is a bit more sketchy. Obviously they've got to fill the packs with some junkets either way (no offence) but what did they want/get in return for it being your book?

I could be wrong but I'm sure I saw it advertised on Pravda earlier in the season too. These are the same people who'd gleefully sue all of our immune systems for trademark infringement for daring to have red & white blood cells, yet there they are happily promoting an unofficial Arsenal product. :? As much as unfounded outright accusations are unfair, I think a healthy dose of scepticism over the arrangement is at least understandable. Not that you're obliged to explain yourself obviously - it's a personal blog and I'd be surprised if there was any formal request to try & influence your writing anyway - but still, I'm a nosy bastard.

First time was because some banter about a non member was taken the wrong way by said non-member who complained to the service provider and they pulled the plug until all mention of that non-member was removed. We cannot say anymore than that so please don't ask.

Second time the owner felt (probablty rightly) that the place had just gotten too abusive and was putting off possible members, and driving away some regulars too, so he pulled the plug, tightened the rules just a bit and gave us all one last chance.

no not lumping ya in...it just seemed striking as i read down the posts that there was a very quick change in attitude when the arseblogger put his position forward. I myself am a huge sceptic when it come to arseblog and his Arsenal dealings, but for what its worth my impartiality to whats happening at the club is also available for a price, be it in junkets or business dealings, im not fussy!

Not quite the full story there DB - it turns out that the non member that complained had actually got the wrong forum as it wasn't us that posted their name and address at all but it didnt stop the :censored: getting us shut down  Still pisses me off that somebody can make a complaint without checking their facts first especially when their complaint has ramifications for others  Can't recall an apology coming our way at the time either

Still not quite the full story yet augs! We were also partly shut down because a couple of our punters posted a few (obviously) light hearted threats to kill that person. We were then shut down to have all mention of that person removed.
