AFC vs Indonesia Match Thread

Knowing Wenger he will now declare the squad as being good enough and in no need of any additions.

First time I've seen him in action and I was really impressed with the young kid Zelalem (even though the commentators kept confusing him with Olsson  ). He has the running gait of a Vieira, the calmness in possession of a Wilshere and the incisive passing ability of Cesc and he's only 16!! 8) :barscarf: Not that I'm building him up or anything.

Saw Zelalem and Eisfeld a bit last season in youth games, both have the time on the ball that many great players have.
But as you say, Zelalem is 16 and so many potential young players at Arsenal have failed to make it to be first team regulars.

You're right of course but this kid has got fantastic technical quality (partly because of his lack of size) and also seems to possess game intelligence - i.e. knowing when to hold on to it, when to play the simple pass, and with that he also has good vision. Obviously not the answer for the immediate future but I look forward to seeing how he develops. If he ends up anything like Cesc, to whom I've often seen him compared, then we're on to a winner. 8)

Eisfeld and Zelalem are both candidates to play the Cazorla role in the future.
Both have the timing, intelligence and technical ability to do so.
Time will now tell whether they have the physical strength, freedom from serious injury, commitment to training and lifestyle, and the desire to remain at Arsenal.

Afobe looked fantastic in youth/reserve games at age 18, now at age 20 there is a lot of talk of him being sold this summer.
