It looks like a few people on Twitter are trying to get a campaign going to get Kenny to lead the teams out on Sunday

My guess is there's little chance of this but at the very least it'll be great to hear "One Kenny Sansom" echoing round the Grove and a fitting tribute to a cracking left-back

Sad to see an Arsenal man struggle. Hope he gets the help he needs.

Heart breaking to see. Kenny was one of my faves when I first saw The Arsenal play.
My step-dad is a recovering alcoholic, and he had to fall as far as Kenny has, before he realised how bad things were. He too lost everything and almost died before he did something. I'm incredibly proud of him and all he has done, although it's always one day at a time.
Hopefully people will come through for Kenny, and he will be able to get the help and support he needs. Admitting he has a problem is the first step, so lets hope he can push in the right direction now.

fuck- I thought he recovered from this, at least partially. those pictures are genuinely distressing to look at. I remember him doing my stadium tour back in 2007-08 ish. never would i guess he would have had such a bad time of it later on in life.

hope he gets back on his feet

Poor old Ken.....as a fellow son of Bromley, to watch the man I first saw (in the flesh) lift a trophy for the mighty Arse is such a painful sight. A fantastic servant for both club and country.

Come on Ken....sort it out man ! Lets hope TA6, Mariner and some of the others he played with can rally round him and get him through this illness

It really is a horrible illness - I mentioned before on the Gazza topic that I'm an alcoholic in recovery, the stage he's at now is a very dark one, but he's running out of places to turn, which is no bad thing, hopefully TA or someone who understands the illness well enough can set him on the right track, but after that its all up to him and a programme to keep him sober.

It's not easy, 7 of those I was in treatment with died within a year.

Fingers crossed he gets the right help and sticks with things.

Absolutely heartbreaking. :( Met the man and he was such a gent. A Legend. 8)

I lost a very close friend to alcoholism and it is a devastating illness. I hope to God they can save Kenny.

Swapping him for C Allen was one of the best transfer deals ever.

Really shocking.....tragic story about a once great player and Arsenal legend. I saw him and Perry Groves do an evening question and answer session in Hatfield a few years back and Kenny was very open about his addiction and how he had battled to control it.
So sad that his demons have returned, i so hope Tony and other ex teamates can help him through this.
