FACT!

Re: Fenerbahce away
totally agree, totally pointless us being there,i pray that the wheels continue to drop off,in 15 years time we might actually be shot of Le Arsole.Fener to win please!!Cockerill's chin wrote:Our squad can't win this competition. Re: Fenerbahce away
I cant think of any reason why a win here is going to benefit us. We will go into the group stage with 3 other shit teams, finish 2nd, and get humiliatd by any decent opposition in the last 16. Id rather a loss to heap more pressure on that *word censored* Wenger.markyp wrote:totally agree, totally pointless us being there,i pray that the wheels continue to drop off,in 15 years time we might actually be shot of Le Arsole.Fener to win please!!Cockerill's chin wrote:Our squad can't win this competition. I can think of one huge advantage - not playing till Sunday half the season is rubbish
Re: Fenerbahce away
I have no doubts whatsoever that we will win over the 2 legs. We'll also qualify from the Group stage without a shadow of doubt......so get the plastic pants and tissues ready

Arsene knows
Re: Fenerbahce away
Ha ha, that's hopeless. Lucky for them they are playing some crap mob bereft of depth with injuries piling up and out of form after 1 game.Dan_85 wrote:Don't worry chaps, Fener lost to newly promoted Konyaspor yesterday! Our march to the promised land of the CL group stage is back on!
I can't see us winning - not after that display against Villa AT HOME on Opening Day!

but...but we've got wenger as manager, how could we lose to lowly fenerbahce?Swifty wrote:With the resources he works with Wenger has been amazingly consistent. I think we have just been spoilt by a period when we had an incredible team. I bet if, prior to Wenger's arrival, someone said we will get you a manager that will deliver a ubstantial nuimber of trophys, keep us in at least the top 4 for 16 years or so and ensure we are not only in the Champions League but also make the knockout rounds more than any other club in Europe there would be NO ONE saying hmmmmm let me thing about it.
The stadium itself is another fantastic legacy and the financial state of the club now has us set up for generations.
I think sometimes our fans are too blinkered by the 2000s and need to remember the 70s, 80s and 90s - although it is also quite apparent many current fans werent around for those periods - not their fault but certainly taints there views.
Personally, I'd keep Wenger until he wants to leave - you watch United fall back to earth now SAF is gone - mark my words.

Re: Fenerbahce away
Fair call Henry. In my defence I will say this - I had assumed that we would have some lean years post Highbury but then have the financial clout to make some waves. My view was he did well at Highbury and then looked to create a club for the future and did well managing us through those financially challenging times HOWEVER I made the incorrect assumption that cometh the hour cometh the man. This window was it for me - this was when would make our mark and become a genuine big club internationally. I am pretty much floored by the incompetence of the past 3 months. Wenger and/or his people have proven incapable of driving the supercar they have built so now it's time to get someone that can (that it has become SO woeful did surprise me). I still respect the work he has done for the club during his tenure (notwithstanding some rapidly accumulating errors in recent times).
His use-by date is up and, despite not being a female, I reserve the right to change my mind.
Well played pulling out that post though.

I hope other people turned to your way of thinking swifty.
personally, i'm actually looking forward to this game knowing any result has positives, theres no pressure and it's the first Arsenal match on the box this season.
