Re: The Mesut Ozil Thread
Mezut Feldman's a great signing for sure, well done Clousea for once, but we still won't win anything with only Giroud to pass to. What happens when Le oaf is injured, call in the under-21's? Can't rely on Wally or Pod to score them or even be available half the time. Sorry to be a damp squib but Wenger's f*cked up not landing a quality striker to complement Ozil, he's left us short again I fear. And we needed more defensive midfield cover for Arteta.

Re: The Mesut Ozil Thread
Giroud is doing a fantastic job for us at present - great runs and finishing. Short of splashing 40m on a presently unavailable striker, I dont see we had a better option this window. On this form and in this crazy market, Giroud is easily a 15m to 20m player - ie not that easy to improve on without breaking the bank big time. Sure, like any team we might struggle if our main CF gets injured. But Podolski and Bendtner (yes, him) are decent players and could do a job (at least until January) providing the rest of the team continues to function and they have confidence.

as for DM cover, its covered - Flamini.
Re: The Mesut Ozil Thread
Whilst happy that we have signed a player of Ozil's quality, I still think the money would have been better spent on a striker and on strenghtenning our defence.
We now have an abundance of midfielders, one recognised striker in Giroud, who I still don't rate despite his good start, a winger / come striker in Walcott, a danish beer monster and french postman masquerading as footballers.
Maybe the goals will come from midfield, but what I really struggle to see is where Wilshire will play, I just hope Carzola isn't the one who drops out, or does one of our natural midfielders become the victim of Wenger's "round peg square holes" policy.
Anyways we will still win fuck all while Wenger is in charge.

I'm loving the responses on this transfer
Not a single Madrid player didn't want him out.
Latest in anger line is Cristiano Ronaldo.... well if you miss him, you can come here too

As for Spud Levy, thanks for making this possible,
you for trying to block it and if you feel betrayed... excelent

Re: The Mesut Ozil Thread
Wilshere doesnt warrant a start in midfield currently, so its not a problem for me. Ozil, Ramsey, and Arteta for me at present. Seeing Rosicky drop to the bench is more of a shame, as he has been consistently excellent, but he is getting on a bit, and him/Wilsheremake greatback up.
Re: The Mesut Ozil Thread
Rosicky's gone next summer.

Unfortunately for you, the ONE player Arsenal paid out for, is better than the whole seven you bought, put together. And you know it. The only reason you got within touching distance of us these past two years, has just GONE to Madrid. Watch and learn.SteveO 35 wrote:Thfc wrote:They sold him for a reason. You mugs paid silly money. another massive positive of this signing is it will attract more top players to us,imagine the players that might be drawn now, could be a snowball effect, maybe??
real Madrid players are gutted about losing him not just the fans

I imagine Suarez is itching to join us even more now, he would want to play with Özil rather than Henderson and a washed up Stevie G.markyp wrote:another massive positive of this signing is it will attract more top players to us,imagine the players that might be drawn now, could be a snowball effect, maybe??

The quality and potential of our midfield is a striker's wet dream. Suarez will be thinking "I wanna have some of that".

WE GOT MESUT OZIL, WE GOT MESUT OZIL NA NA NA NA, NA NA NA NA
The knock on effect of this transfer could be huge.
I don't think we should get too ahead of ourselves here but the world now knows Arsenal CAN spend. The world has seen Arsenal spend £42.5m on ONE player, not just ANY player but Mesut Ozil, a player who is perhaps one of the top three midfielders on the planet. Who wouldn't want to play with him?
What striker wouldn't want Ozil and Cazorla behind them?
I'm not just saying it because I'm a gooner but we have the best two attacking midfielders in the country. The images flooding my mind of Ozil and Cazorla linking beautiful passes to each other, executing pin-point through balls and lashing a stinger towards goal. It's mouth watering.
