Weekends other games 19/20th Oct

Andros Townsend is the new Gareth Bale. In that every minor achievement will be hailed as the second coming of Christ.

Spurs look absolutely awful yet they are managing to win. Hope it's not too long before they are found out (again).

Some cheeky scummer had the cheek to say to me at work the other day how every little thing Ramsey does now is being blown out of all proportion..........this bloke knocks over a nation with a population the size of Nottingham, has a half decent game against Poland, scores his first PL goal for them ever and Barca will no doubt now by eyeing him up to take over from Messi

As predictable a man of the match award since Bryan Robson's personal monopoly on the thing 1983-86

He's not the new Bale he's Walcott mark 2.We had to put up with English media love in over Walcott for the last 7 years which he had one good half season till he got that new contract

Townsend mania has gone out of control over the last week...Robson in the 80's and Gerrard now.. certs for man of the match awards. Yesterday he played three or four dangerous balls (two to nobody, but they were dangerous apparently) and scored a penalty and guess what he was man of the match.. Debuchy at right full for Newcastle was in my opinion streets ahead of him in terms of contribution.

Vermin fans bein investigated after they hit a Lino with a smoke bomb.

Dickheads.

If we did that our away fans would be banned and or we'd be docked points.

Townsend reminds me of Adam Johnson. He'll be found out soon.

Spot on. Full backs will suss him out soon like they did with Bale. Difference is Bale had more in his locker and was as potent through the middle, whereas Townsend 's skillset is limited. He's just an arch-typical English winger.

Check it out if you haven't seen it already http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02U9VvDfNqc

I don't blame the Ref though because in real time it does look like it's a goal.

I loved the quote from someone within the leverkusen club who stated that the hoffenheim president had spent a lot of money on what is a fantastic stadium so you would think that he could have bought a decent set of nets

Townsend could have had a very average game and he would have been wildly praised after the internationals. Just flavour of the month like Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and others have been before him.

He's a decent player but as said above there's nowhere near enough to his game atm for him to be a top player and set him above another decent part-timer like Lennon (or Walcott). Let's not forget that he's actually been starting all season and has done nothing up until the last two games or so against very poor opposition - remember how dreadful he was against us with his woeful delivery and constant wasteful shooting from 25-30 yards?

Let them fawn over Townsend, just means more pressure put on him and the scum. Meanwhile Rambo and co can just rack up the points and laugh at the end of the season.
