DORTMUND CL GAME THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

we WILL sneak a draw or even a 0 - 1 win after sustained pressure and some stout defending.

and if we don't - then don't blame me - I'm only going by all the voices in my head

Am kinda expecting a 3-1 defeat but am not as sure/confident of my prediction as I usually am  I know the victims are an average team but we completely dominated them and the confidence gained from that might lift the team to a draw or even a win. As has been said frequently on here of late, the first goal in this game will be crucial cos imo if we concede first then a defeat will appear likely.
I remember a couple of seasons ago we played dortmund away and were given the run around for 90 minutes but still came away with a draw (and were only minutes away from winning) so I guess anything is possible.

Does anybody else think that the bit of publicity seems to have gone to klopps head ? He seems to be getting more eccentric with each passing week and I'm beginning to wonder if he is beginning to believe his own publicity and is playing up to his reputation :rubchin: In my opinion he built these very strong dortmund teams around an ethos devoid of ego's and I wonder whether his ego might cause a change in the mentality of the players and break down what has worked so well for them

Apologies for the question if it seems odd to some,

BUT will the fact that a fair few of our team speak German help at all?
Just sometimes calls insructions from managment etc that happen on the pitch may be more easily read if the language is understood?

Hearing opposition instructions in english every week doesnt seem to help us adjust tactically does it ?

Augie,

What are these tactic things that you speak of?
Does Monsieur Wenger know about them?
Are they going to help us or just give us all a minty fresh feeling?

I'm confused (and I'm not even Oirish)

I think we'll get a draw tonight.

I'd happily take a point here with no significant injuries but I can't say I'm brimming with confidence.

I think we'll lose narrowly tonight and napoli will win, leaving them and dortmund 3 ahead.

We'll then beat marseille leaving us level with napoli on points after they get beaten by dortmund.
That would make last game very interesting with winner takes all vs napoli.

On the other hand...

It is impossible for an Oirish person to get confused....unless s/he is talking to another Oirish person.
