I have a bad feeling about this one...

its that kind of season where Southampton very well could qualify for the CL play offs.

Used to work with a bloke who every October /November would say "that Hull/Swansea?WBA or whoever could well win this league"..then he would give you a second look and say " well they could".. I think Southampton are set uop not to lose too many.
On this game Cardiff will be on a high and certainly up for the game after last week's late goal v Manure... Think it will be uncomfortable and difficult but think we will not lose..

I think this game is going to be a lot easier than most on here believe, 1-4 to the Arsenal

Did Rambo not get some stick last time? I'm not joking when I say less than half their fans actually care about football, having a reputation as hooligans and kicking English people are more important to them.

Things have changed/improved over the past 3 seasons especially since the new owner took over - the (so called) ard men (boys) who used to act as 'body gaurds' for Sam Hammam (ex owner) who were also part of the ccsc - are not as visible as thy once were - yes, the cardiff fans have a rep - but that is down to previous years.... like all smaller clubs - there is still a active minority who like to cause aggro - but their numbers are less than 5 years ago...I was on the train going to see us play (we arrived at Southampton) 3 seasons ago - and Cardiff were playing pompey - some carriages full of ccsc - snorting charlie & billy whizz and getting all gee'd up - but the plod (en force) emptied the carriages and searched every one of them...the train went on without them - some were being 'detained' others separated into smaller groups - and put on different trains...Cardiff supporters club now run coaches to games - no alchohol no trouble etc - like all other clubs - at home the trouble happens away from the ground - against like minded opposition fans....a lot of families (dad's & kids etc) make up 60 - 70% of the home crowd..

Also this saturday Cardiff will be full of Welsh Rugby fans - outnumbering footie fans 3 - 1 - and they very, very rarely get involved in any violence...they're there for the beer, rugby, beer and any spare drunken pussy

My post wasn't intended to be about how dangerous their fans are - almost the opposite in a sense. The vast majority of the many many people I know who purport to be Cardiff fans (now) constantly post shit about stuff like how much trouble there's going to be at the South Wales derby with defiant pride even though they're scared of their own shadow and would never get involved in stuff like that. Ask them about their tactics, weaknesses etc and they'll more than likely be completely stumped.

I went to Ninian Park a few times back in about 2009. It was their second season back in the Championship and they were mid-table at the time and they were pulling in crowds under 10,000 for those games even though it was their strongest team in years and tickets were reasonably priced. The majority of people in their stadium would have previously considered themselves Cardiff and Liverpool/Man United fans but have only actually started supporting the former properly since they came good. I know that's not an unfamiliar tale at lower league clubs but I can't imagine any other clubs are as widespread as this. I find it weird when I go to other cities (like Newcastle) and pretty much everybody there supports the one team.

Really nervous about this one, we really do need to take maximum points from the next 3 games if we are serious about challenging for the title. Because regardless of that we're getting sweet F.A at the Etihad and we all know Wenger's record against the chavs.

I think everyone and their dogs expect Cardiff to sit back and let us have the ball in our own or middle thirds, then pressing when we enter their third and trying to catch us on the counter attack. The only way to negate that is to attack from the off, score an early goal and force Cardiff to play more expansively.
If we play to our best we can win this easily but if we don't Cardiff will fancy getting a point.
My prediction....... 2-0 to us.
