FA Cup 3rd Round Draw (v the scum)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Police advice, least chance of pre match drinking, roads clearest etc.
Can only guess TV demands have trumped police wishes.
Can expect skirmishes all day and into the evening.
Yeah Saturday night is crazy in that respect. Think police wishes are being listened to less and less, after years of early kick-offs for derbies at both games they are increasingly played at 4pm Sunday, although this is obviously not as bad as evening Saturday. Similarly police would certainly not have wanted Cardiff v Swansea - a game which kicked off at 1130 a few years ago due to well-founded fears over trouble - to have been a 4 o'clock kick off this year.

Its worse than Cardiff Swansea by a long way isnt it- far greater ticket allocation for starters, 2,700 at Cardiff against 9000 at AG for cup matches, and they bussed all Swansea fans in, no admission I think unless they came in by bus. That tactic has been used a few times now, even for Chester Wrexham in the Skrill Premier   There were no arrests for the S wales match :?

The bussing in doesnt seem to be possible at AG in the same way, 180 busses :D I guess they may reduce the allocation, shame, there needs to be as many vermin watching proper football

None of that does anything for outside the ground though Holloway Rd will be fun :rubchin:

Is it really as bad as some people on here are making out, because I'm not aware of places being smashed up along Holloway Road during the NLD before?

It's two-pronged with the fact that people will have been out on the piss all day and there will be 9,000 away fans. Personally the only real trouble I've witnessed at the new place was with the Cardiff FA Cup tie - because of a huge allocation of away fans turning up having been on the piss all day.

The police must be livid that this is on evening on a Saturday, it's just needless.

Despite the reputation this match has, it has been a long time since there has been anything approaching the large scale disorder that would concern the Met Police enough to insist on a specific KO time.

I know it wasnt Holloway Road but the memory of Jurys Inn Hotel in mancland the night before the cup semi final a few years back, will live with me forever - turning the corner and seeing loads of coppers, police vans and the mounted police swarming all over the place shocked even me and the missus almost had a meltdown  The bar in the hotel was shut down for 3 days afterwards cos there was a glass in the place that wasnt broken

Would love the vermin “super firm” to come over to Dubling and try their luck somewhere like Tallaght or Ballymun. They’d be found locked up in a basement about six months later, chained to a wall wearing gimp masks and “BITCH” t-shirts, with arseholes like gaping chasms.

Even the gays in those areas are mental!

No offense meant to our gay brothers.

Augie. Lefty. Goonersid.
