I disagree. This is a defense-first Brazilian team. Maybe not the sexy approach of the early 2000s but still quite effective. They thrashed Spain last summer and I think they'll do it again in the final this summer.topcat wrote:I don't know. But NOT brazil in my opinion, they're not actually that good anymore, people are assuming they'll win it because its on their own turf but I don't think they've got as much quality as spain, Germany or argentina.

Even when the Nigerians had bet on themselves to lose, Scotland couldn't beat them

Can't see a European team winning it, Spain have come off the boil with the Barca contingent being past their best now. Germany will go far, but I can't see Ozil shining tbh. He lacks that killer instinct, and would rather pass than have a dig when it opens up for him.
For me its Argentina, with Brazil perhaps playing them in the final.

Brazil v Italy final there great matches when these to heavy weights play the two most successful teams in the competition.
Your right about Spain but they seem solid when they play and have some great young players the Germans always organized and have some real talent in there team looking forward to seeing Julian Draxler play . This guy is quality .

Seem to remember people saying the same about Spain before and during the last tournament because they'd lost 4 friendlies (2 dickings) since the previous tournament.
They've won 3 major tournaments in a row and vitally their side has played a familiar and successful system for years and years. Rather than just chucking 11 players on the pitch which is what the majority of international teams do.

Re: [POLL]: Who will win World Cup 2014?
Yeah your right there , they don't actually play with attackers they play 11 men forward 11men in defense.. They play a very 90's style football move as one unit and it seems to be very effective. TBH as long as i see great football may the best team win ...

I have a sneaking feeling the Germans will win it.
Might just throw a twenty on it. Anyone any ideas what odds they are?

Thought they might be about 8/1 or 9/1. Might just make it a fifty to make it worth my while!

Christ, I had actually forgotten the other usage of the term "punt" tbh...

Re: [POLL]: Who will win World Cup 2014?
I'll add punts to the list that includes horses running through council estates, toothless simpletons and badly tarmacked drivers (in this country)DB10GOONER wrote:mcdowell42 wrote:We use euros, punts are gone about 12 yrs ya tight fuckDB10GOONER wrote: Has to be worth a punt!![]()
