Rainbow Laces Video

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've always despised hooliganism. It's a blight on our game. But there is a massive difference between the flatcap wearing little twat type hooligan you see nowdays (and also back in the day too it must be said) that gets pissed up and feels brave and goes looking for a fight and the groups of fans in the 70's and 80's that basically defended themselves on away days but were termed hooligans.

Every man has the right to defend themselves. My old man brought me up to defend myself and I can respect and understand anyone that does that. I'm raising my son the same way. Never go looking for trouble, but never run from it either. Only an idiot goes around looking for a fight. I'll always remember my dear old dad telling me as a kid that I should never ever throw the first punch, but always throw the last.

It really pisses me off too that the Turks and Italians get away with far worse nowdays than most English hooligans did back in the day. FIFA and their bitch UEFA banned English clubs (when they should only have banned the mousers) but turn a blind eye to the repeated stabbings, mob beatings and ocassional murder dished out by scum in Italy and Turkey. :x

It's all about context. It's a disgrace in this day and age that regularly teams go to Italy and their fans are subject to cowardly attacks like stabbings in the back or tens of fans mobbing a few fans in a local bar causing zero harm. It's fucking disgusting, I honestly am struggling to think of anyone I have as much contempt for on the planet as Platini.

I'll see your Platini and raise you a Blatter.

I think what annoys me more about Platini is that he is still regarded as a footballing legend by so many people whereas Blatter is universally perceived as the absolute crook that he is.
