International break

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

why the fuck are friendly international games being played next week ? No competitive internationals for four months how can any international manager learn anything about players etc ? Let players go back to their clubs and have a few days rest.

If Sir Alex Ferguson was manager of Manchester United this morning there would be a raft of withdrawals from the friendlies . All the players withdrawn would be fit and rested for the game at The Grove next Saturday.
Our manager will not withdraw anyone unless the injury is genuine, he will cobble together a team for Saturday and blame the internationals for the inevitable defeat.

Tremendous performance from Wales, great defensive organisation and Joe Allen was absolutely outstanding.

Just reinforces my view that Belgium are grossly overrated though. Packed full of fashionable players but not much substance to them. And Fellaini was absolutely dreadful, Wales' best defender as he kept getting in the way of his team-mates. He's a dirty fuck and I'm absolutely delighted that his career has nosedived at United.

Ha have to (somewhat begrudgingly) admit that he had a good game, although James Chester and Chris Gunter put in great performances as well - as organised as Wales were though Belgium made them look streets better than they are, like how amazingly most defences happen to play out of their skin against us.

Ramsey had an okay game, was out on his feet after 75 minutes though. That youngster George Williams at Fulham is a useful player. And as I said Joe Allen had an absolute blinder, he must be gutted that Henderson for some reason is now revered as a CM and Gerrard will still be first choice at 46.

And Gareth Bale is absolutely superb. He has really kicked on when he left the Scum, he gets the ball to feet and will nearly always skin two or three players before getting a shot off.

That Irish XI is quite weak.

Gone for a Yanks/Jocks double today.
