Like us, United are relieved to just be back in the CL next season. I reckon both are happy with the league standings. Can't see either team really going for it.
This statement kinda reminds me of this....

Rooney is out as is Carrick, two of their better players, not scared of this at all.

An interesting stat came up on Boyd Hilton's podcast from one of the guests.
Of the (so far) 15 games we have played against teams in the current top 9, we have won 4 of the them, Southampton are on 5.
Even more of an insight, if you constructed a mini league of the top 9 teams games against each other, we would be rock bottom.
The improvement since last season myth gets blown out of the water

You're not the only one, but what's the obsession people have with comparing this season to last season?

It seems to be used as a stick to beat us with, but we were top for much of last season and won the FA Cup, so it was probably our most successful season in a decade. This season may possibly match it - or certainly in the same ballpark.

If you want to make a comparison, it's surely better to do it over a longer period of time? i.e. 5-10 years, then you'll get a better idea whether we've progressed or not.

But it hardly matters; we clearly haven't improved enough to give anyone bragging rights.

I know that we haven't beaten them at O.T. for years, and I know that I have had a couple of sherbets this afternoon, but.....I think that at the moment we are better than they are, and that we will do them 1-3!!!

In my opinion it is in response to the claims that we have improved/progressed this season - I think that, if some didn't persist with claims that we have progressed, then myself and others would just talk about our deja vu seasons in a "nothing really changes" way, but when others like to claim otherwise it does merit a response

That's good news for us , as I agree with you when you say that they're two of the best players ...plus Shreck always seems to score at every opportunity against us.

On a different note, I hope that AW makes some changes to the starting XI as against Swansea most of the Team seemed pretty jaded.
Theo has been dying to start a game and Jack seems ready to go as well.
It's a shame that Welbz couldn't make it as I'm sure he would have put in a great shift.

Mike Manc Dean refereeing :( :( :(

It could only be worse if they dragged Mike Cuntybollocksbentbastard Riley out of retirement.

I have the mancs to dive all over the pitch and get umpteen free kicks and at least two pens. :cussing:
