Exactly - he just another fat Blatter waiting in the wings - reminds me of a modern day Uraih Heep - ie: Sneaky two faced fucker.
That's a bit harsh OneBard! He may not have been a great referee but I'm sure he was honest. And remember, he was a role-model for the ethnic community. 8) :D :D

Yo! Where ya's been Hlebby - By that I mean which Planet!?

I think you are cofnusing Uriah heep the well known Low Moral based Dickinson chrarcter Uriah Heep and the black ref - who retired some time ago due to his being too fat to be able to run and blow his whistle simultaneously Uriah Rennie. :? :D

Either Blatter knew about the massive and widespread corruption, in which case he should go, or he knew nothing about it in which case he should go.

How those paragons of corporate governance in Africa, Asia and Central America couldn't see this is a mystery.

Reported on Sky that France and Spain voted for Blatter. Unbelievable.

It's a very long shot, but UEFA might actually grow some balls and withdraw from FIFA.

A few good reasons for doing this.....

Who the fuck actually wants a World Cup in Qatar?
Does any European club want this competition to fuck up it's domestic and European league and cup schedules?
UEFA would probably like to head up a new world order. And reduce the voting power of minor nations outside Europe.
Europe is where the football money is. And money talks, right?

If UEFA walk and don't offer entries for Qatar all the African, South American and other corruption accepting nations will still go so European clubs would still lose all their players from those nations for the duration.

I had considered this. I'm thinking that the old club v country argument would, on this occasion, favour the clubs.

No nation can compel it's players to compete. They are not under contract to any national team. It's voluntary.

Even African players with European clubs may think twice about training in the heat of Qatar. And then go play in a gigantic fridge?

Finally, the footballers themselves are human. They know the difference between right and wrong. Just like the rest of us. Give them a choice of Qatar and a better, more ethical, tournament then they might just choose to give their backing to it. Regardless of nationality.

Like I said, it's a long shot.

What is sooooooooooo surprising is that Blatter's support comes from :-

Africa
Asia
South America

continents where corruption is almost non existent.
