Re: The Giroud Question
I'd add that Giroud's deficiencies have been cruelly exposed this season. Without goals, he offers fuck-all.
Bollocks to all this 'B-but he's great at hold up play' shit. He's supposed to be a fucking number nine, not a number ten or a winger.
Giroud should be on the end of attacks not crossing the ball into an empty box.
£130K a week for this pace-less, overacting show pony. Arsene knows (how to play a sideways 2-8-0)

Re: The Giroud Question
Just read the thread from the start again and i believe he is on the same number of leagues goals as on the as 15th of Jan
Back then most of us were making excuses and saying he's not so bad, now we mostly think he's shit, how fickle are we

Re: The Giroud Question
Pretty much maintain what I said in the second post save that his attitude fucking stinks now.
For an example of the merits of an average striker working hard, look at Welbeck at Spurs. Ran his bollocks off from the first minute, provided an outlet and hassled defenders at every opportunity, generally being a pain in the arse and giving our defensive players a huge amount of respite. All despite being stranded up front in a side playing awfully.
Had Giroud been playing Alderweireld and co would have been on cruise control and had him in their pockets as he chucked the towel in. In fact when he did come on and we were playing with ten rather than running himself into the ground Giroud was sauntering about towards the end.

I wouldn't call it fickle though, mate. At that time he had done ok. He had what 10 or 12 PL (?) goals in half a season, and he was (mostly) working hard and showing for things. But in the second half of the season he went off the goals and instead of working hard (like Welbeck did) to regain form, he just didn't bother. So we now can only judge him on what he has delivered, which is now proper fuck all. Plus the fact his attitude now stinks.

Re: The Giroud Question
I used to like him and thought he got a bit of a hard time from the fans but recently he has been total dog shite.
I think he's proven that he doesn't have either the mental aptitude or the physical ability to be a striker at a top club.
We need to buy a top striker during the summer window but I think it will be very difficult to do so if Ozil and Sanchez both head for the exit. What player is going to want to join a club with no ambition that has it's best players leaving?
Is Wiltord still available?
