It'll be a 'battle' of who wants to be in the cup the least. Disgraceful, but typical of modern football.

If Hull decide to bottle it, I can't complain. It's just that TOF may want to bottle it as well despite it being the best chance we have of winning something this season. I hope it doesn't go to penalties after 120 minutes of tedious sideways shite.
Wenger gives the impression of a man who sees these domestic contests as a nuisance. He perks up when CL rolls around. Why, I do not know??? He still sees himself as a Colossus on the European stage, organizing, rallying his men for one more crack at it.He's already said it's full strength ahead for the Barca clash. The truth is Wenger & Arsenal are pretty much irrelevant in Europe.Pretty much thrown in the towel for the PL but still holding out hope we can go to the Nou camp & win 3 - 0. But we can't go to OT and win. Hell we can't go to the Hawthornes & win  :(

I expect us to win this too - I'm not expecting a stroll or anything, but I am expecting us to win cos it suits us playing away and hull will be far more focused on getting promotion.

If le cock picks a strong line up for this, then will it be an indication that he has given up on all other trophies ? Wenker always rests at least half a team for the fa cup, and if he doesn't do so here I would feel that he thinks that this game is more important than the baggies and barca games :o For me it would also be an indicator of how conscious he is of the pressure that he is now under 8)

I think you're right, sadly. TOF's obsession with winning the Be All and End All with average players and no tactics has led to several bottled domestic trophies and league titles. I almost wish English teams were banned from Europe for a few years, so we could take domestic cups seriously again :?

He is and always has been a serial failure in Europe. Three European finals in '30 years', three defeats.

It might be a 'tin pot' attitude, but I want Arsenal to win cups and titles rather then meaningless VTs. If we finish 2nd-17th it means fuck all to me, it's all about coming 1st or winning a trophy. We've only finished outside the top eight three times since 1977. The fact we've won the VT since 1997 means nothing to me. We finished 12th when we won the Fairs Cup in 1970 and no-one cares about the league position, only that we won a European trophy (which TOF has well proven that he cannot achieve). I'm also annoyed that we have only won the League Cup twice. People remember cup wins, not VTs.

With Cech out for a probable 3 to 4 weeks. Does Wenger risk Ospina or play Macey. Just imagine if Ospina picked up an inury in this cup game.

Macey a total rookie would be in goal for a good 4 or maybe 5 PL games

I am glad i am not paid £7m a year too make this decision :D :D

Why not, making huge calls are not stressful if you are not accountable. I'm a manager, imagine if I could go to work knowing whatever I do, whatever call I make, everybody's gonna be ok with it, nobody is going to dare question me.Talk about freedom..... And get 8m to boot :D :D :D

I just cannot believe after every thing we have seen in the past 8 weeks that people are so breezily confident. It actually doesn't even make sense.... these guys came to our backyard a couple of weeks back with a severely weakened team , almost expecting to lose as they have bigger priorities, yet we couldn't even score, let alone beat them. Now, after picking up one point in nine and losing to Barca as well, we are going to cruise up to Hull and casually sweep them aside without being "stretched"??? I CANNOT see it.EVERY game stretches us, every game is a turgid, uphill battle.AND we cannot score goals, Hull must be licking their lips, and our lambs must be absolutely dreading it.I bet guys like Sanchez,Ozil & Mertersacker don't even want to go.
Think you should read my post again, why I believe Arsenal will win this without being stretched is down to Hull's situation in the Championship.. If you think I am being over confident based on what I see are Arsenal's current quality or ability then you are way off. I will go back to being breezily pessimistic after the game..

Unless we buck up our ideas (which I doubt very much) we'll be out of everything in 10 days time.

10, you mean 3 don't you??? Leagues gone, as is the CL.... this is it. Mind you Wenger thinks the CL is still on. Obviously feels WH, Man City, WB, etc will be a bridge too far.... But 3-0 at the Nou camp,,, now that's doable  :barscarf:
