Is somebody at the FA having a laugh or is this a genuine ploy to take England back into the dark ages?

If the FA appoint either Sam Allardyce or Steve Bruce it will be the most spineless and worst decision they'll ever make (which is saying something).

How such powerful people can watch England be light years behind other countries technically and tactically every major tournament and think that appointing the biggest dinosaur they can find is the answer is beyond me.

The chief exec of the FA came out today and basically said the reason why England fail is because of the media and an inability to cope with severe social media criticism. Genuinely beggars belief.

Seriously where the fuck do the FA find these people?

I don't think that is accurate. England's dark ages was definitely the seventies when the two best managers in Europe were English. They were spineless then. Sven was the most consistent manager England have had for years three consecutive quarter finals and qualifying for every tournament. Roy Hodgeson record as international manager was quite successful but maybe got the England job some 15 years too late. Bruce, Allardyce, and Pardew have show to be the best English contenders for the job. Alf Ramsey and Terry Venables were the best English managers to be appointed at the time they were appointed. Id argue that Bob Paisley and Brian Clough should've been ahead of Revie, Greenwood and Robson but that a whole different story. The appointment of Sven was the right decision, but not so Fabio Capello and Dutch Steve. The FA made the error in not sticking with Glenda. He should have managed that "golden generation" from the start to the end of their international careers.
Who knows Allardyce might well get through to the weak minded players who freeze and fold the moment the pressure is on? That would be the biggest breakthrough any manager could make.

It's embarrassing, but look at it; they are the only two experienced English managers in the top flight of English football. It just goes to show how fucked up and mercenary the PL has become.

Perhaps if we are ever finally allowed to leave the EUSSR, we could enforce a sensible quota of homegrown players instead of the watered-down version we have now

Although that couldn't really extend to managers.

Fuck it, why not let Crooknapp have his day? He had the scum playing some decent stuff

Fucking wonderful. It's a double bonus because in a few years time, England will be even shitter and fat Sam will look even more of a fucking mug.
