I posted this on another thread but it sums up how I see the reaction to this:

I see this as part of an accumulation affect.

There are so many uncertanties, unknowns, "jury's out", "could make it" - more than at any time I can remember. If it was just a couple of players or positions then it would not be such a problem but

Vela
Bendtner
Song
Eboue
Denilson
Diaby
Adebayor
Almunia
Senderos
Rosciky
Eduardo
Walcott
Ramsey
Nasri
RvP
Gallas/Toure (can't keep these 2 apart  )

All have major questions hanging over them/things to prove/developments to make. Forgive me if I have missed anyone, I am thinking about players in or close to regular first team action.

With such a number of players, it is not difficult to accept that there will be alot of pessimism around.

did you forget we only finished 4 points behind united last season?
But I'm sure this year Nasri will score 15, ramsey will score 10 and Bischoff will score at least 10! Not to forget that Adebayor will want so badly his way to barcelona that he'll run his socks off and score 40 goals! Almunia will make Cech and Van der Sar look like midgets. And last but not least, Rosicky and RVP won't be injuried at all!

Do you feel better now? Am I being optimistic enough?

You dont know whether to laugh or cry really do you ? Far be it for me to take the reasonable line on here but it is obvious to me that the outburst in anger and depression is based around this being wenger's last signing of the summer (unless another player goes). This signing does not plug the holes that we so badly need filling however, while we all hope that this guy proves to be the mutts nuts, he still doesnt bring the experience we badly lack. Anyway that is not the fault of the lad himself and we will all get behind him 100% but if wenger doesnt pull his finger out and buy experienced quality players (that can remain fit) then it could be a long season :banghead:

Do you honestly think this will be Wenger's last signing? Someone who he's only given a year's contract to?

I hate all this talk that it's experience we need as well. Why is it only an experienced player that will turn us into a title winning side?

Look at United's squad, there's not that much experience in that (certainly not that much more than ours) and look how they've done.

It's not purely experience we need. It's just a player that will take us to the next level, no matter how old he is.

Bit of a "meh" signing really. :? It can't hurt to have the lad in the squad.

So it ain't the end of the world. IF Wenger signs an actual proper experienced quality midfielder now, that is.

If he doesn't then we are actually (to use a technical term) fucked. :( :banghead:

No two ways about it; we are weaker than last year. And let's not get carried away about last year. We flattered to deceive, punching way above our weight. We took alot of the smaller clubs by surprise, but we were found out big time against manure and the chavs.

SIGN EXPERIENCED QUALITY NOW, WENGER. NOW, I SAY!!

Calm down dears. We have signed a youngster for nothing that AW has been tracking for years. How is this bad news? If this is our last signing I will join you all in jumping off the cliff, but we have no evidence this is the case. :banner:

You've got to be kidding me/us about Utd and experience - surely ?

Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Ferdinand, Van De Sarr and Tevez are established interbationals with numerous caps between them.

Even their 'Young' players live Evra, Rooney, Ronaldo and Anderson are full internationals. And all the above have the experience of being Prem Champions and CL winners.

We are left with Kolo and Fab who has experience of winning Euro 2008. The comparison when made on paper is quite frightening

I have never seen the lad kick a ball so I can hardly slate him for not being good enough for the team, though his apparent lack of experience does concern me. I agree that it is not the big name signing many of us were hoping for but the window is still open and there is still hope, lets just hope RVP doesn't fall out of the window and hurt himself

i really hope like all the rest of us that this isnt our last signing. didnt bischoff say himself recently that to start with he will play in the reserves to get back to fitness and form as he hasnt played for two years! maybe we will get an indication if our spending is over from the boss tonight.

People does that mean Wenger last signing during this transfer window because whatever about signing midfield players we do need to buy a defender for cover for Gallas and Toure because as we said before Senderos well i say no more. :banghead:

Yeah so we have really lost a huge amount of goals from last season. Look who has left and who we have added, our problem is not creating, it's defending.

we did say the same about Flamoney and despite him being a man for the money which made him a crunt he still came good.

Got to be honest I never even heard of this guy, even though last month I remember we were on the verge of signing him but I defo hope this is not a bad transfer. Lets give the lad a chance even though nobody knows who he is.

There's nothing negative about this signing, is there? :? Bischoff cost us little, or nothing, so it's not a risk in any way!

The only concern would be whether this is the signing Wenger was talking about, when he said we would sign one..maybe two.

If this is the "one", then I'm praying there's another signing on the way! there HAS to be...surely :?
