I agree, this sort of formation plays to our strengths better (though I would call it 4-1-4-1 or even 4-3-3 rather than 4-5-1!). The only trouble is it's new and might take the players some getting used to.
And 4th place Quartz? Aim higher, we're still better than Liverpool and the chasing pack, the question is whether we're further behind the Mancs and the Chavs. Anything lower than 3rd would be a failure, even without having replaced Flamini.

and i like Eboue, and he has started the season really well and still think he offers more than Walcott at the moment, might have gone for Rosicky and Nasri on the wings but Rosicky doesnt really count does he?

Why the fuck everyone hate Toure now? is it his new hair or is it that he has 199 caps for Arsenal and its the only team he has professionally played for and is loyal? I think we need to remember that Toure is still recovering from malaria, HE IS BETTER than Djourou and Song at CB lol
I agree that Toure is better than Song and, for now at least, Djourou at CB. But sometimes picking the best team is not just about picking the 11 best individual players, it's about the combinations/partnerships. And for me, Toure & Gallas just doesnt work well enough.
It's therefore a question of Toure or Gallas and I just picked Gallas cos he is at least a natural defender, and cos we've seen the Djourou/Gallas partnership work relatively well. If/when Toure & Djourou get a run of games together and that works I'd gladly pick Kolo over Gallas any day!
I'm not sure why any Arsenal fan would ever hate Toure! Even if he is in the middle of growing a Sideshow Bob haircut!

Having had a quick look at a few posts on this thread, I think most people are going with the opinion that Gallas and Toure aren't an ideal partnership.. and having played together for 2 years, I think it's doubtful they'll turn into a match made in heaven, any time soon.
I suppose it's similar to the Gerrard/Lampard situation with England. Both are great players, in their own right, but as of yet, they don't seem particularly well suited to playing together.
By the way.. dropping a player doesn't mean you hate them. I doubt Wenger hated Gilberto, but for the good of the team, he stuck with Flamini, who was forming a decent partnership with Cesc.
