I just don't think it's such a big deal, that's all.Gooner1315 wrote:Wait til January and in the summeryou wont be saying it then
I understand why people dislike him - I was furious at him myself - but having let him know how we all felt, I don't see the point in dragging it out any further. Especailly now that he's signed a new contract.
Hating someone takes so much effort... honestly, it's so much easier - and better for the soul - to forgive! (and no, I'm not religious!)

I agree somewhat there augie, but I'm 28 myself and don't ever remember another arsenal player getting such flak. I've been attending games regular since 2001 and can only really remember Cygan and Stepanovs getting any real deal of stick, and then nowhere near what Ade is getting at the moment!augie wrote:
I could be wrong here but I think the whole anti greedybayor v the its all in the past is another example of the changing demographics of fans nowadays. It seems to me that the older fans that have followed The Arsenal for decades are far less forgiving than the younger less experienced fans. I still want the bastard shot myself and hopefully by someone with a better strike rate than himself![]()

Vieira "allegedly" said a lot worse than Adebayor ever said, and Vieira's "Will he won't he" transfer saga went on for three summers, yet he was always welcomed by the fans.
Ade was silly and conducted a mistaken publicity campaign to engineer higher wages.
He came out of it looking bad, but honestly, i really do not believe he wanted to leave.
He treated the fans badly, but my feeling is he made a mistake, rather than being malicious, so I forgive him.
As for his song, it is a terrible song! It sounds like a funeral march.

Because Vieira had 5 years of distinguished consistent play under his belt which is not the case with Adebayor. Also, pragmatically speaking , Vieira was as close to the best in his position in the world - not something that can be attributed to Adebayor. I can't speak for everyone but his demand for higher wages one the back of one season, with no trophies (Vieira = Double winner) sticks in the throat.QuartzGooner wrote:Vieira "allegedly" said a lot worse than Adebayor ever said, and Vieira's "Will he won't he" transfer saga went on for three summers, yet he was always welcomed by the fans.

Totally agree with you there galasso - comparing greedybayor with PV4 is akin to comparing hleb to rocky or nasri to pires
