Arsene Wenger To Offer Philippe Senderos Plus Cash For Fulham's Brede Hangeland – Report
Arsenal are to offer fellow London club Fulham a player-plus-cash swap deal in order to snare towering centre-back Brede Hangeland away from Craven Cottage, according to The Daily Star, who claim that Philippe Senderos is the defender deemed disposable by the north London management.

The Gunners have added just one recruit during the transfer window, Thomas Vermaelen, one of Ajax's many captains from the past season and described by Goal.com's Netherlands branch as a strong man-marker who can dominate aerial balls. However, their defensive spending could be set to continue.

According to the report, Arsene Wenger is readying a £10 million bid for Hangeland plus Swiss international Senderos, who spent last season on loan at Serie A giants Milan.

Arsenal could have an extra £25m to play with should Togolese frontman Emmanuel Adebayor's lucrative Manchester City switch be completed. The 25-year-old is reported by Sky Sports News to have been present at the Gunners' training camp this morning, and he was believed to be saying his farewells to his team-mates.

Two of the more popular press-linked players to be sounded out as replacements for the former Monaco striker, who helped guide the Ligue 1 side to a Champions League final in 2004, are Girondins de Bordeaux hotshot Marouane Chamakh and Real Madrid's out-of-favour Dutchman Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Arsenal Coach Arsene Wenger Eyeing Demba Ba To Replace Adebayor
Demba Ba was already the centre of one of Germany's most talked about transfer negotiations of the summer, but the Parisian-born Senegalese international may not be finished making headlines just yet.

With Emmanuel Adebayor seemingly leaving for Manchester City, it is reported in the Daily Mail and Le Parisien that Arsene Wenger is looking for Senegalese striker Demba Ba to replace him.

The 24-year-old scored 14 goals this season in the Bundesliga and declared at the beginning of the week that he wanted to continue the experience with the Bundesliga newbies.

Arsenal, on the other hand, with a long experience of grooming French-born players and Ligue 1 alums into global superstars, may have found their newest bet. Arsene Wenger is said to be particularly impressed with Ba's potential.

The player, who was declaring his will to come back to France, and more precisely to Paris, has not yet reacted, but his agent already declared that it would be an honour for him to play for such a great coach and that this type of offer had to be closely examined.

WENGER IS TO PAY OBA THE ODDS

Arsene Wenger will launch a cut-price £7million bid for Obafemi Martins.

The ARSENAL boss hopes to take advantage of the turmoil atNewcastle by using some of his funds from the sale of Emmanuel Adebayor to nab Martins on the cheap.

Toon owner Mike Ashley could be tempted to cash in on Martins, 24, who has been on Wenger'sradar since before his move from Inter Milan in 2006.

The Emirates chief is desperate to replace Manchester City-bound Adebayor and Gunners sources say he hopes to sign two strikers before the season starts. Newcastle still owe Inter £4m for Martins as the £10m fee was to be paid at £2m a year over the course of his five-year contract. French clubs Lyon and Marseille have also shown an interest in Martins.

No Arsenal offer for Chamakh, says Bordeaux coach Blanc
'I am reading a lot of things which are surprising me.
'What I can say is that, at this moment, no offer has come to Bordeaux.

'I hope his case will be sorted out before our departure for Montreal (on July 23, when Bordeaux travel to take part in the Trophee des Champions against Guingamp).'

Gunners eye-up France-based pair as search for Adebayor replacement begins

19th July 2009
Arsenal are considering moving for Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac as a replacement for Emmanuel Adebayor.

Gignac, 23, was the French league's top scorer last season and has been the subject of a £13million bid from Lyon - but Toulouse want closer to £18m.

Arsenal, armed with £25m from Adebayor's sale to Manchester City, had scouts watch Gignac on Friday night in a friendly against Bordeaux who had Marouane Chamakh in their line up.

Arsene Wenger is an admirer of Sunderland target Chamakh, Hoffenheim's Demba Ba and Newcastle's Obafemi Martins but Gignac is believed to be his preference.
