Agree with all of this.highburyJD wrote: for the board to 'reveal' they have no money would be a mistake
for them to reveal they have limitless amounts to spend would also be a mistake
personally I believe the FA should insist on total transparency for all football teams accounts
which I believe would go a long way to preventing Leeds/Pompey type issues
It would also remove any excuses for clubs to not have representatives of seasonticket holders as voting board members
but this is not the case so I so not expect the club to surrender financial information and give rivals an advantage

Our accounts are posted on the website. There was loads of money there last year. Nearly £100m in the bank. The board said we can spend most of it. I know it is painful but you must accept this is Wenger. Its the first step on your road to recovery.Kiwi Gooner wrote:Agree with all of this.highburyJD wrote: for the board to 'reveal' they have no money would be a mistake

Yeah, but hasn't the Highbury development been dragging the chain?
That was my understanding.
It's also hard to argue with the business sense of letting Chamakh cool his heels for a season and get him free, rather than pay 6-10 million for him.
We do have a small squad, though, and injuries have killed our title challenges for the past few seasons.
It's a bloody mystery to me why we have so many injuries.
Rosicky was out for a whole season ffs.
Theo's always injured, RvP's always injured, Arshavin's been playing with an injured foot... it goes on and on...

are our wages + contracts with players and banks totally transparent...?
probably a failure in understanding/dedication (financial reports are not that interesting) from me
I know all of the property info is not divulged which on it's own is pretty key
wasnt it rumoured a singaporean property developer did a last minute hardcore gazunder on a mass purchase?
anyway I'd rather have a wenger who shows faith in players (even when I don't) and saves the clubs money
that a redknapp who does as many deals as possible
then bails from the bankrupt sinking ship

Unless wenger goes this summer he will leave the next manager a team with no cesc, no arshavin but plenty of almunia, theo and diaby level of players

if he left in a couple of years and cesc and arshavin left as you seem to have decided
he'd leave the manager with
an awesome training ground
the highest revenue generating stadium in Europe
a team respected all over europe - more consistently in the CL groups than anyone
money in the bank (guessing we'd get good fee's for those boys to add to the Tourebayor money)
solid revenue streams unmatched in our league
a world class youth setup
the group of 18 year olds who dominated youth football for two years reaching maturity
thats a pretty good 'fail'
and in Verminator by then prob the leagues best defender
