Match thread is as good as any, don't really want to over work the mods tonizzle.
Start with a match summary.
Don't care, Liverpool are shit. A point at Anfield might be acceptable for relegation fodder or mid table dross. You wanna win the league? You DESTROY shit like that. Home or away.
But more than that this mother fucker 2809 posts in, won't be posting on anything seriously team related any more. I know only 9 of them were really serious and realted to Arsenal issues but I like to think I had a good idea of football in general.
Tonight, I'm fucked. I remember reading a book as a kid called The Goalkeepers Revenge. I loved that book and can recall one of the key lines "Goalkeepers, I can buy them and sell them"
Pity the fucker earning millions of pounds a year hasn't got a fucking clue.
Today, Arsenal were Arsenal from last year. Un fucking acceptable. Wenger has cunted about with this goalkeeping situation way too long and I have no patience left.
In a way Im glad, I'm about to save a god damned fortune, but in reality I'm fucking depressed. I love this club but have been taken to the brink of average-ness when it hasn't been necessary for the last time.
Expect more anal gags.
A lot more anal gags.

Mind you, it's about the only thing he said - or indeed has ever said - as a pundit that reflected an actual reality and made sense. To be honest, most weeks I'm cringing when I hear his views on arsenal or any other team, and is just another example of someone that was good at playing the game, but has very little understanding of it. It's no surprise to me that he made a pig's ear of his brief managerial spell.Rob wrote:Must give a compliment to Paul Merson here.
The Sky 'pundit' with the ubiquitous Redknapp Minor.
Came out bluntly and said that if we don't get a convincing keeper we won't win anything, now or in the future.
Have to say it's nice to hear an 'Arsenal' ex pro come out with this bluntly and truthfully and not the usual Bob Wilson 'garbage' about how 'wonderful' everything Arsenal is.
Sorry Bob lovers - to an extent I am one - but his "tractor production up 75% on last month" module, has worn thin to the point of embarrassment, long ago.
Merse might have added that our weakness at corners and free kicks and our inability to exploit the same is just shocking !!!!

Won't add too much to all this only that, even if Its as third choice, having a captain who most doubt will even start or see many more days at this club, is a sad indictment of what we're becoming.
Last season i could just about buy that he needed a confidence boost and TV was new but when we're so clearly unsure about his future, for him to lead us out on the opening game just sets the tone for the season. And we seriously lacked anyone willing to take this game by the scruff of the neck today and br a leader. I wouldve hoped campbell's spell last season would have fired them up a bit.

Its hard to understand Arsene's thinking on most things but this to me is a clear sign that we will not be signing a goalie. I honestly thought TV would be captain considering pre-season and the amount of press he has been doing.BT wrote:Won't add too much to all this only that, even if Its as third choice, having a captain who most doubt will even start or see many more days at this club, is a sad indictment of what we're becoming.

I like Merson because he doesnt toe the party line like other blinkered ex gooners telling us how great Wenger is like Parlour,Groves and worse of all Stewart RobsonI Hate Hleb wrote:Mind you, it's about the only thing he said - or indeed has ever said - as a pundit that reflected an actual reality and made sense. Does that include his answer today that it was a good thing Wenger signed the new contract and that he doesn't know what Arsenal are going to do once he finally leaves?
And if he truely believes it, surely that means that 'everything he said about Wenger and the club being true' becomes bluster or even worse, hypocrisy? Otherwise he'd be doing what you and others have been and, if not exactly demanding Wenger's head, then surely querying the decision to extend his contract. After all, whenever he gets the opportunity, he seems very fond of saying that 4/5/6 years without a trophy is too long for a massive club like Arsenal and not acceptable!!
Apart from his Almunia blind-spot - which I also can't understand - Stewart Robson is about the only ex-Arsenal player (perhaps Alan Smith) who when analysising us, is prepared to point out the weaknesses and where we need to improve.

The anfield library - what a joke there support is. Voiceless for 46 mins.
Kos - wasn't fazed, tackled well and knew his job, great game imo
Rosicky - cried out for him to come on so we cud have some ball retention in the final thiird and flair to create - supersub indeed
Arshavin - he cant be bothered so i aint bothering with him
Wenger - great double substitution - def got the support back on track
Big thumbs up to our support - different class.
Really really annoyed with the majority of the Arsenal team, NONE of them came down to us at the end of the match. At the final whistle arshavin, who was at the half-way line, turned round, couple of claps and headed down the tunnel. Walcott and TV came down a little and in their defence both players led a sustained applause between them but generally what a f*cking insult to our supporters, who travelled hundreds of miles which costs hundreds of £'s for some.
Anyone else in the crowd agree?

Can't look through the whole thing but what can you say. The same slow shit as last season, the same shit keeper as last season, the same useless defending from set-pieces, the same aimless passing.
I think that Liverpool could've gone down to 1 player, and we still wouldn't have got a shot on target.
