As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If he wants to go and work for FIFA then he can spend all day moaning about FFP but he's far too concerned about what's going on elsewhere. They've signed a 36 year old past-it lump, they haven't sneaked Lionel Messi into their squad. Why does he always feel that it's his responsibility to whine about this? Doesn't come off well and if he wants to get written off as a moaning troublemaker - like the FA/English media have been on a global scale by FIFA - he's doing a brilliant job.
Surely you can see his point though? It's hardly whining to be talking about fairness in the game. If that's troublemaking then there's really no hope. Lampard may be a 36 year old but who's to say next time it won't be. We both commented on Chelsea's "loan business" and this is just as bad.
Cleverly done journo, they asked him if there was anything odd regarding the Lampard move and FFP. It's like surveys done by think tanks, word the questions to skew the answers in favour of your desired outcome.
He should start batting these away, but better he answers with a straight bat than the horse sh*t that comes out of that Maureen's mouth. Lose 3-0 and it's all the refs fault.
Embarrassing prick
I find it funny have how the press and sh*tty fans and some of us as well, go on and on about AW and FFP.
The biggest advocate of FFP in England is the dodgy Russian in West London and for nothing as noble as fairplay. No,he expected his Chavs to dominate the EPL and Europe for decades and now he has to contend with Monaco,Psg, Sh*tty et al. The greedy effer wants to pull the drawbridge up behind the chavs. Glad FFP us turning out to be hogwash. Everyone should get a sugar daddy. In money driven corrupted game like football, why the hell not.

I agree. The alternative is that nobody says anything and clubs like Citeh continue to exploit the loopholes.
Keeping quiet about these things is tantamount to supporting cheating. At least he has the balls to say something about it and draw attention to it. I bet Citeh are propoer pissed off at the journo for raising it as an issue. Up until then it had slipped under the radar.
It's the same with the England versus FIFA issue. They can call us whiners but we know that it is corrupt to the core. If it wasn't they would be doing more than calling us Whiners, they'd have us in a coutroom. If their only response to being accused of fundamental corruption at all levels of their organisation is to call us whiners then we have clearly hit on a raw nerve with them.
It's only by people being bold enough to stand up and say "you cheat" that cheats will stop behaving as they do. If we all say nothing then it will continue and likely get worse.
Sounds to me like Sporting changed their mind and are willing to accept our earlier bid now (ties in with the fresh reports that they've lowered their asking fee).
Tony Leen mentioned that the gap between the asking price and what we're willing to pay has narrowed as well.
You can trust O Jogo, biggest newspaper in Portugal and not known for printing bollocks.

Or - like happened with Higuain - the bollocks everyone is printing is wrong and therefore they are now inventing twists (like Real supposedly reneging on the agreed fee last year) to fit the lack of development to their rumours.

You are not seriously implying national dailies would make up stories just so Freddie Starr can eat 1989's hamster

how do you know 'o jogo' is not known for printing bollox? are you an expert on the portugese printed media?

I was going to write a long post along the lines of, "mate, nothing personal but how do you know what O Jogo is known for?!" but decided against it.
If believing every transfer rumour you hear is what gets you through the summer, then fair play to you. I shan't be joining you in the realm of fantasy transfer targets, however. I've been burned too many times before.
it all well and good being hopeful that we attempt to sign someone, but making unfounded sweeping statements as if they are facts is just silly.
we all know the media, no matter how 'reliable' or 'proper' print boolx when it comes to transfers. the bbc so, sky do, all the newspapers do as do supposedly itk journos on twatter.
yes we all hope we are bidding for a DM but until its from the horses (AW's mouth) or on Pravda, or maybe, at a push all media outlets are printing a consistent updated story (not the same one from weeks ago) we cannot believe there is any truth in it.

A planted question perhaps ? Seems way, way too convenient for a journo to ask a question phrased like that and for le cock to have his answer ready. No other manager was asked the question (about possible sinister crooked motives) over the weekend so why was wenker asked about it ?
I also get your point about the need for somebody to raise the issue of the possibility of an end around FFP but why is it always le cock who does so ? Because he feels that he is an authority on all things footie, he pushes himself forward as the saviour who will always fight the good fight but the problem is, when you hear the same voice over and over, you stop listening to the valid points being made
They ask it because they know he will be more than happy to answer.
It's like the boy who cried wolf - he has thrown his toys out the pram at every single turn since the concept of FFP arose (and indeed before). He is written off as someone who moans about anything he can so when he does complain about any valid major point, his weight will be massively diminished.
As normal this will be brushed over because unlike Mourinho, Pellegrini is wise enough to not bite. And it'll be stacked up as another example of whinging. If he wants to actually try and make a difference he needs to pick his battles instead of playing the martyr all the time.

All hail the oracle
