Re: Freya North's "Rumours" thread!
I reckon Frimpong can be the mean enforcer and a good box to box player too, but of course is not only injured again, but very rough around the edges.
I rate Coquelin as a defensive midfielder.
But one more would not hurt at all.
If there was none available (i.e. M'Vila deal shaky) then I would even consider Vermaelen there, and buying another top class centre back.
Just putting it out there though that my priority is left back; I think it is a disaster waiting to happen.
Gibbs is injury prone and still very much learning positioning, Santos can tackle but is atrocious in positioning and much better used left midfield, that is, if he avoids prison for his car chase!

Re: Freya North's "Rumours" thread!
My understanding is that Vermaelen really doesn't like playing leftback; might be unsettling to move him away from a central position he's done well in.QuartzGooner wrote:I reckon Frimpong can be the mean enforcer and a good box to box player too, but of course is not only injured again, but very rough around the edges.

Arsenal, and the 4-3-3 in general, badly needs talented sidebacks. We've seen how bad it is without Sagna there. I definitely agree we need a proper LB. I like Gibbs, but his injury record makes it sketchy relying on him, and he would do well to have some experience in the line up to learn from.

Re: McDowell's "9 days till its locked" Rumours thread
Arse Wenger said when Song went, that we already have plenty of midfielders. So when will you lot ever fucking learn, no one else will be joining, not on loan and certainly not a purchase which would eat into the profit made once again from this latest exodus.
So lock this fucking thread now, all dealings have been done for the season, unless of course we get an offer for Ox, who I hear was late for training yesterday and didn't give a jot.

Sounds about right - we give him a chance at regular football - he improves vastly...then madridwhores come and take him back - when he's much closer to the finished article
