A quick look on the interweb suggests that 'O Jogo'......or 'The Game' in english, is a daily sports newspaper and in 2010 it had a daily circulation of 28,900. Although the circulation may have grown quite a bit since then I'd say it's not much like the 'Guardian'!!

Gunners pair Mikel Arteta and Nacho Monreal are being targeted by Athletic Bilbao, reports Goal.com.

The La Liga side have cash to spend following Ander Herrera's move to Manchester United and have been alerted by the fact Arsenal may be willing to sell both players.

Arteta appeals to Bilbao in particular and would be seen as a like-for-like replacement for Herrera.

Monreal meanwhile has struggled to nail down a regular starting spot at the Emirates and it is thought Wenger will let him leave, once has has brought in a replacement.

Topgoon would need not be unhappy with that deal.

Mikel has been a good servant for us in his 3yrs here and unlike our last 3 world class captains he actually led us to silverware(sorry TV you were just a ceremonial head Mikel and BFG were the real captains last year). But he is getting older and slower, swapping him for a 22yr old especially if Bilbao will pay us and give him a longer contract at his age. That sounds like good business.

Monreal I want gone so badly,I'd let him leave on a free but we need a LB and I don't know of any that are decent and available. We could promote from within but Ormonde-Ottewill and the young Greek kid we just bought are too inexperienced, especially with Gibbs injury record.

Wonder if we'd consider using Miquel there. He's left footed and would probably be alright defensively if not great going forward...not sure what his crossings like. He looks like he can now handle the physical side of English game and he's not a bad header of the ball. I think he's worth a punt, in the absence of a good experienced alternative.

Jack Rodwell off to Sunderland.

Remember thinking he would become a top player. Sad how that one turned out. In all honesty he's an idiot for going to Citeh to sit on the bench in his development years (although I'm sure the wages kept him nice and happy).

Barkley has taken the correct route and signed a new deal with Everton on the other hand.

I'll second that!
Radford was the original and I never minded it to be fair. However Topgoof's attempt at being original is quite frankly driving me up the fucking wall! And I reckon a MOD's warning should be around the corner
JUST STOP IT..................PLEASE

Doesn't come off well and if he wants to get written off as a moaning troublemaker - like the FA/English media have been on a global scale by FIFA - he's doing a brilliant job.
Surely you can see his point though? It's hardly whining to be talking about fairness in the game. If that's troublemaking then there's really no hope. Lampard may be a 36 year old but who's to say next time it won't be. We both commented on Chelsea's "loan business" and this is just as bad.
I agree. The alternative is that nobody says anything and clubs like Citeh continue to exploit the loopholes.
Keeping quiet about these things is tantamount to supporting cheating. At least he has the balls to say something about it and draw attention to it. I bet Citeh are propoer pissed off at the journo for raising it as an issue. Up until then it had slipped under the radar.

It's the same with the England versus FIFA issue. They can call us whiners but we know that it is corrupt to the core. If it wasn't they would be doing more than calling us Whiners, they'd have us in a coutroom. If their only response to being accused of fundamental corruption at all levels of their organisation is to call us whiners then we have clearly hit on a raw nerve with them.
It's only by people being bold enough to stand up and say "you cheat" that cheats will stop behaving as they do. If we all say nothing then it will continue and likely get worse.

A planted question perhaps ? Seems way, way too convenient for a journo to ask a question phrased like that and for le cock to have his answer ready. No other manager was asked the question (about possible sinister crooked motives) over the weekend so why was wenker asked about it ? :rubchin:

I also get your point about the need for somebody to raise the issue of the possibility of an end around FFP but why is it always le cock who does so ? Because he feels that he is an authority on all things footie, he pushes himself forward as the saviour who will always fight the good fight but the problem is, when you hear the same voice over and over, you stop listening to the valid points being made[/quote]

Oh the irony

Apparently, Carvalho has only played one full season in Portugal. He looks decent on YouTube (but, apart from Gervinho, so does everybody else) but 24 million seems high and I don't think he's a guaranteed success.

I'd welcome him into the squad but I'd prefer a more experienced player.

I have a lot of time and respect for Arteta. Although he's clearly not good enough for us anymore, the bloke has given his all, didn't shy from physical play despite not being that type of player and he put his head in where it hurts, unlike Monreal who visibly pulls out of challenges which is especially unforgivable for a defender.

Wouldn't shed a tear if both went.

Yes they are very useful, I use it for work (CCTV installation) and therefore goes on the books and I get the VAT back on it, it is brilliant for entertainment also but this one is the wifes, I mainly use my laptop for most things workwise.

Wow no piss taking, I've finally matured :barscarf:

Edit:

Oh and have a great holiday mate :barscarf:
