Young (aged 25) for £17m.
Milner (aged 24) for £26m plus Ireland*

The last one is even crazier when you consider that Chelsea got Mata (aged 23, WC winner) for £23m and Man City got Silva (aged 24, WC winner) for £24m. We have to get Aston Villa's transfer negotiators If they could get £26m for Milner, how much would they have got for Cesc?

I know Wanger rates him but he's flopped, big time. Old Wanger may have been able to kick start his career but I wouldn't want him anywhere near us now.

Yeah, what's the story with Stephen Ireland? - he looked a real menace, but has disappeared altogether in recent seasons.

Reminds me of Lee Bowyer. The guy used to be very effective at Leeds, then his form fell through the floor

Weird as it may sound, I think he really suffered once his alopecia occurred (I can relate) and it battered his confidence. I also think he needs an arm around him and a lot of his employers haven't exactly been backwards in coming forwards when questioning his attitude.

I reckon big things were expected and he either had trouble living up to the hype, that or he thought he'd made it and stopped trying.
