Still gutted.

Whoever said earlier that Wenger should wrap the game up first, then take his good players off, never does and always pays for it, is spot on. That said why then keep on an injured Cesc or persevere with Sol? I'm not totally convinced he was saving AA and Nasri for Tuesday. Samir is quite ineffective away from home and Andrey is off form so he may have thought Walcott (who scored there before) and Rosicky were genuinely better options. Who knows. But he could have switched it up a lot earlier.

No point adding anything about the spanish waiter  only that the whole team must now be totally deflated and lost all momentum and with that, facing Messi, Xavi and Iniesta

But my biggest annoyance is reserved for the ref. After Song and Clichy were booked I texted my friend 'decisions not going our way from the off. Doesn't bode well'. Now I don't want to come over all Wenger or excuse the teams failings but how many ridiculous decisions can you make in one game? Book our players for nothing early on thus hampering their game, let the Brum players get away with crippling Cesc, poleaxing Song and whatever else and not book one of their players until after 80 mins...disallowing a legit goal, theirs stood when about 4 players were offside...I think I may do a roly and stand by the fact that for us to win the league would be disaster for the bookies and the league and so Webb has been sent in to fuck it up. :banghead: The man who gave United a penalty that was a freekick against Liverpool last week.

Er..bring on Barcelona

Were we really asking too much ??? for a win against a mid table team with more thugs than talent???.....just a win..even by one solitary goal would have sufficed to help us stay in touch with the other 2 contenders and before we face barca!???? was it really too much to ask!???

Eh!???

Eh!???

Every time - I think okay this time ...this game...this season it'll be different we won't FUCK UP!!!.....and every time I get my heart stomped on..... :(

I like to ask Mr Webb is why he didn't wear a brum shirt? As why did Clichy and Song get booked for very minor infringements (Clichy's so call obstruction..well i didn't think that rule still existed) when Bowyer,Carr and Gardner kept fouling but didn't get booked till the 70th minute(Carr that is).Why was Diarby's goal disallowed,Cesc fairly won the ball and Diarby was a fair shoulder to shoulder?.

This referee has been complained about by other clubs some have even written to the P/L requesting not to have in charge and his constant mistakes have been highlighted by the media so how the fuck is he allowed to ref in a top class league????

Still so down. Leg still fucked from one of the biggest goal celebrations i can remember! All for fucking nothing....

What a pathetic, childish thing to write, i just hope thats a joke

Wright was never the number 1 at Arsenal. Almunia would be a good number 2 keeper for us but NEVER a number 1 for a club like Arsenal

sorry, did I miss something...?
why is it "pathetic and childish" to say almunia is better than richard wright
wright won a prem medal with us
he was bought to replace Seaman but never did BECAUSE he wasn't good enough
he also cost substantially more than Manuel

calm your jets flash

My jets are calm thanks...... Saying Almunia is better than Wright is like saying Peter Sutcliffe is better than Harold shipman because he killed less people :banghead:

Almunia is not Arsenal quality and neither was Wright but the difference is Wright was a number 2 who filled in when one of the greatest Arsenal keepers was injured the same cant be said for the current set up

almunia and overcomplication

Post by savaloisav »

i havent read everything everybody has written in this thread, but i was there saturday, and just as many of you may have seen being there on tv, almunia made an absolute howler, and its not the first time. As much as he is to blame, for conceding that last goal. Nasri wasnt clinical enough, and overcomplicated things, by trying to square a pass 10 yards behind him, and between two defenders. We spent and wasted the first 45 minutes, constantly hoofing the ball towards Bendtner in the air, and although i am a fan of NB52, Johnson and Dann, were laughing all day long. After the 60th minute, we actually started playing football the arsenal way, and we had the beating of birmingham. They havent been beaten since september in the league im led to believe, dissapointed with the outcome, and the way we lost those 2 crucial points, But this was never a banker...
