Completely bored of this now.
Needs to be sorted out sheepish, starting to care less about him staying.

Ha Ha, wondered what you were on about.
Re: Van Persie Saga/Coffee morning
why is it ridiculous now? the Euro's have only just finished, and most transfers around europe have yet to happen.franksav63 wrote:Got to agree, it's beyond ridiculous now... one good season in 7.... Hmmmm...Gunnersaurus wrote:Completely bored of this now.

I know football fans aren't known for their patience and understanding, but surely the chances of him leaving before or during the euro's were very slim, so I'm not sure why you think it's now "ridiculous".

Re: Van Persie Saga/Coffee morning
Because it is ridiculous, didn't the club say, initially, that the contract deal was going to get ''sorted'' before the Euro's? It's also ridiculous, because his Euro's have finished, it finished last week, why should he put the club through this? One player doesn't make the club, so if he wants to go, let him, but I just wish it was done quickly, unlike last season when all the deals, incoming and outgoing were done too late, so yes, ridiculous, very much so.g88ner wrote:why is it ridiculous now? the Euro's have only just finished, and most transfers around europe have yet to happen.franksav63 wrote:Got to agree, it's beyond ridiculous now... one good season in 7.... Do you really think he'll be sold before he tours Asia? no way Arsenal would miss out on those shirt sales.franksav63 wrote:Because it is ridiculous, didn't the club say, initially, that the contract deal was going to get ''sorted'' before the Euro's? Re: Van Persie Saga/Coffee morning
how do you know it hasn't been "sorted"? they sat down before he went to the euro's, so perhaps he made it clear he wanted to leave? or perhaps they accepted time was too short to come to a definite conclusion? - which is understandable.franksav63 wrote: Because it is ridiculous, didn't the club say, initially, that the contract deal was going to get ''sorted'' before the Euro's?
right, so you're blaming Van Persie then? on what evidence? - have clubs agreed a fee with Arsenal? have Arsenal even agreed to sell?franksav63 wrote:It's also ridiculous, because his Euro's have finished, it finished last week, why should he put the club through this?
It takes 3 parties to make a transfer happen... the player and both clubs. You've decided to blame Van Persie. Seems unfair.
Most deals around europe haven't been done yet. If that's ridiculous, then fair enough... but it's also normal. Probably because buying and selling players isn't all that easy and quick (especially when they've spent most of time away with their national team)franksav63 wrote:One player doesn't make the club, so if he wants to go, let him, but I just wish it was done quickly, unlike last season when all the deals, incoming and outgoing were done too late, so yes, ridiculous, very much so.
If it ends up like the Nasri and Cesc deals, then yes - it's ridiculous. But we're still in June and the Euro's are still on. And Holland have only recently been knocked out.

Re: Van Persie Saga/Coffee morning
I'm not blaming RVP totally, but if it has been sorted out, why don't either party come out and say so.... let's face it g88ner, whatever I say you're going to disagree with so what's the point in the debate, I stand by what I've said before, another saga needs to be nipped in the bud sooner that previous ''saga's'' have been, we need players in early, bedded in before pre season friendlies, transfers in and out's must include quickly not only the shit we have on our books but the captain of our club.g88ner wrote:how do you know it hasn't been "sorted"? they sat down before he went to the euro's, so perhaps he made it clear he wanted to leave? or perhaps they accepted time was too short to come to a definite conclusion? - which is understandable.franksav63 wrote: Because it is ridiculous, didn't the club say, initially, that the contract deal was going to get ''sorted'' before the Euro's?

It's only 8 weeks to the start of the season, 3 weeks before friendlies start, so I stand by what I've said, it's ridiculous, especially when the club have gone through all this many times before and should learn by it.
Re: Van Persie Saga/Coffee morning
Only 8 weeks until the start of the season and only 3 weeks until the friendlies start ?
Jesus H Christ that break seems to have gone fast - of course all our players that have played in the euro's probably wont rejoin the squad until 2 or 3 weeks before season starts which can only help team building with any new recruits eh
I think g88ner, that the reason why frank and others (inc myself) are impatient for an announcement is cos smarmy ivan stated that talks had been held prior to the euro's but that both parties agreed that no announcement would be made until after the euro's - that in no uncertain terms seems to indicate that a decision has been made and seeing as rvp has been finished with the euro's for a week now why cant they just make the fcuking statement so everybody knows where we stand ? If no future talks are needed or planned then there is no reason for a delay surely ? As frank has intimated already, we have been stung too often in recent seasons by saga's of player departures being dragged out too long which has to upset team planning going into a new season so it isnt a huge stretch to feel cynical and wonder if these matters are dragged out until all season tickets, memberships and money making tours are concluded

They're waiting to finalise the Giroud move before announcing RVP leaving.
