This point is very relevent. Even if our anti-Wenger protests dont force him to walk. I do feel that it will make him less likely to extend his contract when the inevitable offer does arrive.northbank123 wrote:I think Usmanov has the same problem about Wenger as BSM: despite the vast majority of their supporters being anti-Wenger, it will seriously hamper their appeal to the fanbase in a wider sense if they come out and express these views.
Fair enough there's no need for Usmanov to come out praising Wenger all the time but if he publicly criticises him then hoards of AKBs will forever loathe him and he'll be widely branded as an impatient sugardaddy billionaire. Although tbh this is largely how he's perceived anyway and most of those fans will always 'morally oppose' him so I don't know what the damage would really be, although it certainly won't do prospects of a seat on the board wonders.
Wenger isn't going to get sacked under this regime unless we actually finish mid-table miles off the CL for two seasons in a row at least and even then I doubt the board would have the bottle. But it's plain that he's enjoying his job less and less every season, particularly this year, and he's now under no illusions as to the existence of an anti-Wenger sentiment amongst the fans. Although the board will undoubtedly be willing to extend his contract I don't think he'll be here beyond 2014, there's every chance he will walk away in the next few years so I wouldn't say that protesting etc is pointless.

Just want to congratulate you lads on getting the banner up, I can't do aways this year as my employer dosn't pay me enough anymore but would of gone over and shaken your hands if I was there.

Surely, in homage to the banner, that should be... 'FANTASTIC, NOT FANTASTIQUE!'ThomasMitchell wrote:Fantastic!armchair supporter wrote:

Fantastic job. Well done. Keep it up
Re: Wenger Out Banner
Now we have 2 quality banners, I think if I saw 2 anti-Wenger banners concurrently shown during a match I may cry tears of happiness.
