Re: SUMMER TRANSFERS - Deals, Rumours and Buy/Sell Wish List
JD,
Most of the fans are Wengerites and have accepted our situation and his continual lowering of our expectations. At what point do you think Wenger supporters, such as yourself, would vocalise what all of us moaning bastards on here have been saying for a while?
I'm asking as we've seen so many bad results and star players leave without revolt I wonder if there even is a straw that would break the camel's back now?
It seems to me that even if we sign no-one we'll still have "one Arsene Wenger" ringing out as we beat Villa 2-1.

Huddlestone and Livermore set to join Hull - two more players I've heard deluded Scum fans endlessly talk up as a "top 4 player" and a "great prospect" respectively.

What we might be learning from these transfer fiascos is that no decent players want to play for Wenker.

He said that he wants "first-team football to keep getting called up for Brazil." He wouldn't get more first-team football in Barcelona than in Arsenal. They already have Buscuits as their DM. But he does seem like a utility player that Barcelona would be interested in.Tomáš wrote:looks like Arsenal is crusing in for Gustavo

Laut "goal.com" hat der FC Bayern ein Angebot von Arsenal über 20 Millionen Euro bereits angenommen.
Arsenal has placed an offer around 20 Millionen Euros which was excepted by Bayern Munich.
But now maybe Barcelona is also going for the player?

I'm wondering whether Wanger is waiting to see if we qualify for the CL 'proper' before spending? It wouldn't be the first time he's done it. He will make signings, he cannot possibly not sign anyone, even Arseole Wanger! He's thinned the squad out so much, we need a minimum of three players coming in unless he is happy to put 18 year olds into the first team possibly on a regular basis, which is frankly suicidal for a supposed 'top team'.
The signings will come, I'm just uber convinced they will be as mediocre as ever.....Flamini will probably sign for a year, one or two of the other trialists will sign and Wanger will make his customary purchase from the French ligue for about 10m and that will be it. Huge profits made, bonus earnt.
Arseole Wanger - Arsenal FC's greatest ever economist, deserves a bust to be commissioned!!

Isn't one enough?

The wheels could come off very quickly, i reckon whatever happens we will beat Villa at home, but if we go behind against Fenerbache we might get a bit of a hiding and we've had some poor performances at Fulham over the years can't see better than a draw for that, then what could be a high pressure 2nd leg followed by you know who, from what i've seen of the fans at the Emirates they will turn quick enough if results don't go our way

This is an extremely realistic scenario because, as you say, he's done it before. Chances are there will be no one left to sign though and we'll be right up shit creek.TeeCee wrote:I'm wondering whether Wanger is waiting to see if we qualify for the CL 'proper' before spending? It does beg the question, what's the point in qualifying for the fucking CL in 4th place when everyone knows that there are qualifers to play beforehand?officepest wrote:This is an extremely realistic scenario because, as you say, he's done it before. Re:
Like I said it before, I guess that is the key! If Arsenal can somehow garantee him (I know) him a place in the starting squad then you should be his number one pick.Red Gunner wrote:He wouldn't get more first-team football in Barcelona than in Arsenal
